Thank you for protecting our rights. It is a system worth defending. Otherwise what would one say to all the volunteers in the military.

I am a delegate for the GOP to the State Convention of MN, and just finished our Congressional District Convention. I have renewed faith in grassroots movements, as the Paul-ites and fiscal conservatives took all caucuses I attended.

Our 3 delegates to the national republican convention were all Ron Paul advocates.

Government is run by those who show up, so now I go.

I sent the following email to all of my friends:

"It seems there is a boycott going on of Absolut vodka over an ad they ran in Mexico. It was entitled, "Reconquista" and is part of their "In An Absolut World" Campaign. It seems they included a map, which I have attached, showing the border with Mexico redrawn into the US, taking a number of US states as part of the Mexican territory. In essence, this ad is encouraging Mexicans to Reconquer (Reconquista) the US and take back the states that were captured during the Mexican-American war. I dont believe that as Americans we should support a company who advocates anti-American problems. Even though our country is divided, when outsiders start screwing with America, we tend to set aside our differences to drop a Red, White, and Blue foot up their ass. I am sending the following email to Absolut Vodka. It is HIGHLY suggested and encourage that you do the same and discontinue buying their vodka. They have begrudingly given an appology, though I do not believe this is enough. No company who receives a healthy percentage of their revenue, should even have the audacity to insult one of their best customers. If your cell phone company told you to go screw yourself, I am sure you would go to a competitor and no longer associate your money to the offending company. It is not often that I send emails like this out, so obviously this has touched a nerve. I would also like you to finally pass along an email that is actually doing something. Obviously this is not a stupid petition that will go nowhere. The email that I sent is as follows:

To Whom It May Concern,

It is with the deepest sense of disgust that I viewed your recent Absolut World Ad entitled Reconquista. To advocate the breakup of the United States is outrageous and inexcusable. I would like you to take a moment and review the revenues that you receive on a yearly basis from the United States. For you to run an irresponsible ad like that, which you had to assume would anger your customers here is arrogant and shows that you do not value your relationship with your US market. In response, I am sending a copy of your ad to as many friends as I can, as well as encouraging them to send it on to their friends. Further, I will be contacting my favorite bars and resturants, educating them about your advertising techniques, and asking them to remove Absolut products from their drink menu. I am sure when your market share falls, you will realize the mistake you made. In conclusion, I would suggest you remove the person responsible for that ad and discontinue any business relationships with the advertising company who helped design it for you. From this moment on, I will no longer drink any Absolut products, nor support any vendors who choose to carry your products. If in the future your company goes out of business, you will only have yourselves to blame."

This is what it's all about:

Absolute appears to like 'mocking' an important issue ... or confusing the issue. Either way THEY SUCK.

Check out the "Real ID":

Look up "Amero".

George Bush is the worst thing to happen to this country in almost 100 years.

People used to be nomadic hunters and gatherers. They evolved into a society with nation states. I don't think anyone can say with certainty if this was a positive evolutionary path in the long term, after all we've existed as nomads longer than we've existed with nation states. It's up for debate if all the wars we've had, famines, suffering and damage to the planet make this path sustainable. Where am I going with this? Just to say that I do not consider myself a patriot or nationalist or socialist. I'm an individual made up of a single mind and body, my interactions with other individuals and my physical environment. I will do whatever it takes to survive (to the extent I can stick to my principles) and help those I care about to do the same. I will defend the people I know, my community but I cannot rationally defend with my life an abstract idea such as a 'nation'. It is difficult for me to express my perspective in words because I'm still trying to understand it. Suffice it to say that I too am not worried about illegal immigration. Whether it is illegal is merely a random chance of who was in power at the time and what special interests they were serving when they passed the particular laws that made it harder/easier to immigrate.

Take what I say with a grain of salt because I am a rational person and do not believe in faith. People who believe in things would not agree with me and that's cool just as long as they don't force their beliefs on me.
Patriot? Nomad or hunter/gatherer? Civilization? I think that the average hunter/gatherer caveman lived about 26 years, and they were evidently hard years. I know that our civilization...our society....our nation is the one that offers the greatest economic and social freedoms anywhere. Do I agree with what you said above in your effort to define your non-commitment to anything other than that which you can physically see and hear? I dunno.......I read all that you said....and the good news for you is that I will defend your right to express your views to the death even though you're a stranger. As I would for anyone of this nation as long as they aren't calling for riot, sedition or treason, since I expect that my nation will continue to do so for me. Our nation is us. Our society is us. Our community is us. I stood up and volunteered to defend the liberal loonies of San Francisco and the far right whackos of wherever they hang out......because I expect that when I'm too old and infirm to do it for myself that others are going to defend me. It's the covenant we accept when we accept the protections and benefits of citizenship. It's a covenant we're free to disregard up to a point. Not everyone can just accept the protections and not feel obligated to support the mechanisms that offer the protections....things would certainly collapse then.

I will stand up to defend this nation when necessary because the alternatives are much worse. I will be a cheerleader for this nation, while acknowledging and working to repair it's faults. I will support my nation in pursuit of it's goals because I know that the past histories of other nations show how unstable most other forms of government have been, while ours has worked pretty well for much longer than almost any other in their present forms. Living here beats living most anywhere else, and defending that....exhorting that even....is worthy.

I appreciate that you don't want to be required to label yourself, and that it galls you to be forced into doing anything, but there's a price to pay for living in any society....and as far as I'm concerned the juice is worth the squeeze....and whenever I think it's not I've got the right to campaign or run myself for change.

Oh, and one more thing....to those that feel that the right is no better than the left.....go read the track records (not a blog or editorial, but the actual records, of judge selection/support and actual votes on firearms rights of the different candidates. Defence, economics, personal rights......there's still a clear choice. Supporting a third party or just not voting is offering up our rights on a platter and wasting the efforts of thousands who gave all.

DL021 , I absolutely agree I for one spent the better part of my youth defending this country and the people in it Like all American soldiers we swore an oath to protect and defend from foreign and domestic threats to preserve this country . For my many years in the United States Army Special Forces, I an many others lived , fought and died with many of my friends and comrades in arms were disabled , hurt and disfigured scared for life . But not once have I ever heard an old soldier bitch that it was for nothing . We gave all that we had and then some so all people regardless of who what or where they came from could live in this country as free men and woman Its our collective responsibility to keep this nation great . Without each and every one of you bitching would get off your asses and give one tenth of what I gave , this would be a great nation again. This is not the country that my grandfathers fought to keep or my fathers , we live in a time where few men have the balls to stand up and fight and yes die if need be to defend and make changes that are relevant to our time and do the things that need doing to preserve the things that this nation stands for . Freedom first , yes even your rights as gun owners , dog owners whatever are constantly under threat of being lost in our new society of liberalism and political correctness . Even in a free society a little revolution can be a good thing .
I am a patriot and proud of it as are many of my friends and as I read this forum many others here are too .
Wake up and smell the roses , just a map of Mexico including parts of the US are a subtle example of what some people expect to happen in the US in the near future . I believe we as Americans need to stay vi galint and do whatever it takes to keep what we still have left of our constitution and country .
