I'm using American Eagle 50gr Flat Base Hollow Point. Works really well.

Thanks for the info, I will have to give it a try.
American Eagle is one of the best ammos you can use while breaking in your XCR. ;)
Terra and Ty: thanks for joining this forum. I have a question regarding which ammo to use for the 300 round break-in period, and beyond. All others forum members are also invited to provide an opinion.

I have not yet gotten my XCR, but expect it in a week or two. In anticipation of its arrival, and to get some ammo before the predicted price increase, I purchased the following:
(I hope I use the "list" function correctly.)

  • [li]500 rounds - American Eagle - 50 gr - Flat Base HP[/li]
    [li]300 rounds - American Eagle - 55 gr - FMJ Boat-Tail[/li]
    [li]300 rounds - Remington UMC - 55 gr - MC (looks like FMJ)[/li]

I also have 20-40 rounds of each of the following and I'd also be interested in your assessment of these if you have the time:

  • [li]Winchester Super X - 55 gr - PSP[/li]
    [li]PMC BlitzKing - 50 gr - (has a black tip)[/li]
    [li]Remington Express - 55 gr - PSP[/li]
    [li]Remington UMC - 50 gr - JHP[/li]
Thanks very much.
