So with the 16" barrel and folding stock it comes to a detached 18" barrel and 18.5" folded stock frame at 4" wide (damn charging handle ;D

Any one carry theres in a breifcase or small tool box?

Im looking for a breifcase but may just go for a small toolbox with bottom compartment, cut some foam for the barrel and receiver and keep the quick detach ACOG and some mags on the top tool pullout.

Hope i explained that right :)

Pics if you got em >:D

Well i tryed Target, walmart, home depot, and lowes just to get an idea of what im looking for.

They had a perfect aluminum breifcase 1" too short :duh:

A nice 22" steel toolbox though. Have to think about it some more.

If you are really set on a tool box - be sure to look at the Stanley Fat Max (available at Lowes for like $35). I use one as my gun cleaning kit / parts case and it is not only light and roomy (28" long), but has a rubber seal to protect against moisture. You can load it up heavy, and it is sturdy enough to take a beating.

Still - I like Pelican and Storm cases for weapon transport.

I carried my Pelican 1720 with my SBR LMT in it - into a hotel to check in, and the woman asked me if I played music. She thought it was a keyboard case I suppose. I just smiled and replied "I make some noise mostly" and left it at that. Kinda funny... ;)

Fold the stock and slip the barrel out and it fits in a small backpack. Very nice indeed. I just wish the barrel removal was tool free.

Remember, the briefcase dimensions are edge to edge not diagonal.

So a 16" x 12" is actually 20" corner to corner.......

Oh and remember to check the INSIDE measurements not the outside.....

Okay, decided to go one step further and seperate the upper and lower. It only saves an inch and a half but i can get it into that 18" case and should have room for everything i need.

I think that case was 25 bucks or so and i will go get it tomorrow. If i can just find some foam now i should be all set and will post pics when it is done.

Not to be nosey, but is there some particular reason you need to be ultra discreet? ???

I believe you gotta go with what works for you - so don't get me wrong. :D

Targus makes a nice heavy duty laptop backpack that has additional padding and is super durable nylon. I use one to carry my stuff to work when I'm ride the motorcycle. I can load it down heavy, and still be comfortable. I also use a Camelback Hawg when riding mountainbike - but only for discreet carrying of a handgun.

Oh, Anvil also makes a NICE briefcase. Practically bullet proof! ;D

I happen to have a shitload of Pelican pick and pluck foam inserts on hand. I think they are at least 20" x 20" and 4" thick. I'll have to double check the dimensions. If anyone is interested - send me a PM.

I'll give them away for free - if anyone wants to pay postage?

Yep, Im a ultrasecret assassin ;D

J/K, Where i live there is alot of parents and kids and i always hate sneaking out with my huge tactical gun cases and hope i dont get seen. I also dont want people thinking my apartment is a good place to rob when im not there, not that my dog and gun safe wouldnt stop em. Lastly one of the places i shoot requires a nice hike starting in a residential zone and with such a small case i could throw it in my large pack and not have to carry by hand.

Oh, plus the cool factor of making a rifle from a breifcase ;D
