C-Products 7.62 x 39 AR Stainless Steel Magazines

I was on the C-Products web page last night & they have a section for 7.62x39 magazines. The only product info is “New! Availability TBD! 7.62 x 39 AR Stainless Steel Magazine”. Could these be the long awaited magazines for the XCR 7.62x39 conversion kits?

It would be great to be able to buy 7.62x39 XCR magazines directly from C-Products at some point.

I don't know, but given the price of the ammo these days, and considering the ammo stash that I still have after selling my AKs, the 7.62x39 kit is going to look mighty tempting.
Sure looks like it!!! ;D

What is there To Be Determined about it? We want it now!
Hey Guys,

I spoke with the guy at C-Products and he said they should be shipping these mags in December. I hope so, it will open up a whole new ball game!
See my post on the 7.62x39mm cartridge. I explain the C-Products situation.

Just sent my email to them:

Hello,

Just wanted to let you know that there are quite a few folks waiting on your 7.62x39 magazines

over on the XCR forums: http://xcrforum.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=782592c6126887d82fa409a5ad6fb16a&board=6.0

Is there anything we can do to expedite the development and sale of these magazines?

You've definitely got a lot of folks holding their collective breaths for these magazines.

Any idea when they'll be available?

I spoke to Larry Panka one of the managing parters of C-Products. They have changed the mag several times but now tell me that it will be December. Larry went over the changes and I think they are on the right track. I cannot wait because our 7.62x39mm rifles is as accurate as our 5.56 rifle. I'm going to go ahead and get the barrels and bolts going now so we can deliver as soon as they have the magazines.

Kolob,

Any thought of perhaps getting MagPul to make some magazines for this project?

I second that request. ;D

I would rather wait for a reliable magazine than rush a product.
C-Products will be making a plastic mag with reinforcement. This should be the best magazine out there. I'm not impressed with any of the non-reinforced plastic mags. When you buy them, you're just throwing your money away.

For example, you can buy a Magpul plastic (expendable) 5.56 magazine for $15.00 or a Stainless Steel C-Products magazine for about the same money. The difference is that the steel magazine will probably outlast you. My experience with non-reinforced plastic magazines is that they crack after 5,000 to 7,000 rounds and become unusable.

All magazines are ultimately expendable. Stuff wears out. Even HK mags (I have managed to tear up a few G3 mags in my time--had to work at it, but still...). The price point of the Pmag just puts it in a sweet spot and the mag does function very well, unlike a few of the "other" plastic AR mags.

I have a number of AUG mags with well over 5k rounds through them. They're unreinforced plastic and they're still going strong. The Pmag is quite similar to the AUG mag, aside from slightly thinner feed lips. I suspect they'll hold up OK. Only time will tell, but at $14 a pop I don't have any problem with something happening to a few or them wearing out around 10k rounds. I wish I could get decent 1911 mags for that cheap and as easily.
Well this is most definitely a positive move forward for the XCR.

Unless I am wrong this will be the first third party accessory specifically designed and manufactured for the XCR. :tiphat:

If all the anticipation that has been expressed for these magazines is truly realized then I would expect that this partnership to be prosperous and show other accessory manufactures that building for the XCR will be a profitable endeavor.
Where does it say in the product decription it's designed for the XCR ?

Do they look **** they will fit in the same magwell as an AR mag ?

I know they have been talking but if they went into production
then they may want to include it in the description on C-Products website
The mags are design to fit in a standard NATO mag well, there were some Colts AR's built for the 7.62x39.

I do not know of any other rifle except the above AR's and the XCR that will accept STANG mags that can shoot the 7.62x39.

I could be wrong but as I understand it, these mags were manufactured at the request of Robarms for the XCR.
This is my understanding as well. If you look on the left on the C-Products under magazines, there is a link that says "7.62 x 39 AR Stainless Steel Magazine" that takes you to the above linked page. So, yes, these will fit in the same magwell as an AR mag, and I have no reason not to believe these are the mags we have been waiting for.
