I have enabled the Calendar functionality in the forum. Everyone logged in should be able to post events. You can also post a regular thread and later attach an event to your thread by clicking on "Link To Calendar" link all the way at the bottom of any thread.

If you enter a birthdate in your profile then your birthday will appear on the Calendar as well.
