Perhaps we all need to 'Remember the Maine' ?
Isn't it amazing that after the second sham impeachment the story has started to change, it's almost like they were trying to edit Trump speech Trump up the charges on him. They sure are afraid of him running again even though they will do their best to steal the election again.

I didn't vote for Trump, and while I'll admit I prefer him to Biden, I'm definitely not a Trump supporter.

From the outside (meaning supporting neither Trump nor Biden) looking in, this process has been appalling. It seems like everyone in the country is a lot more interested in having 'their guy' win this specific election than in having any kind of ongoing civil society.

No matter how much you hate Trump or Biden, it's not worth sacrificing core principles like freedom of speech or free and fair elections to win one election. So many people who I've known and respected for years seem to have forgotten that.

Glenn Greenwald (article I linked above) seems to be one of the few commentators who shares my view on this. And he's a socialist. It's almost like the only people seeing the long term issues clearly are the very few who aren't invested in one side or the other on this particular election. But of course, we're just the 'fringe radicals'.

Only in terms of using Clinton era approved ROE's for the UN incursion into Bosnia in which journalists were legitimate military targets due to their propaganda influence, lol. The Law of Unintended Consequences.

Sportsball phenomenon.....we're only an election cycle or so away from end zone dances. The feeling of winning, and being on or for the winning team has all but wholly replaced any kind of moral, ethical, social, economic or philosophical end.

Here's another prediction I made a few months back. Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho will run for president in the next 3 cycles.

WTF America?
At this point I'd rather have an ordinary citizen for POTUS then a politician.
The pendulum swings right then a few years later its wings left and nothing changes for the better of the American citizen, sometimes it's a big swing sometimes it's a small swing but it doesn't change the fact says they are two faces of the same coin that are only enriching themselves at the expense of the American people while our liberties are being Stripped Away. There will never be another politician elected who truly has our best interest at heart, they won't allow it.
Love him or hate him or anywhere in the middle Trump was the best person to expose this, he tried to make things better neither party would let him do it. And for the record as I've said before Trump wouldn't have made my top 300 million in people become president but he was the only choice compared to Hillary.
A blind man could have seen this coming from a mile

The Rock isn't an ordinary citizen though and his political views seem centrist at first blush....but upon deeper inspection, he's very left leaning.

I completely agree with him being pretty far to the left and in no way do I want The Rock as president, I'm just saying that unless the president is leftist / socialist/communist then they will be opposed at every turn. Due to the deliberate dumbing down of America and apathy is American citizen we let the greatest country on Earth go out without even a whimper. You reap what you sow and I'm afraid of what is coming / here

I hear ya, brother. We will likely do nothing until we have nothing left to lose....and by then it will probably be too late.

What celebration? Certainly only allowed on one side and not the other. And, once again, I am preselected, this time based on thoughts instead of physical traits, to be excluded from the party.

Through eight years of economic disaster, I sat in traffic, staring at bumper stickers for the guy who brought us and maintained that disaster as long as possible. And voicing any objection was immediately branded as racism.
2016, I could not even have a campaign sign in my front yard over night. They were stolen by morning, multiple times.
2016-2019, I dared not put a bumper sticker on my car, for fear that it will be crushed into a cube if I left the car unattended on a parking lot, or some enlightened diversity believer will pull me out of my car in traffic, and kill me.
2020, this problem disappeared. No one got into their car to go anywhere. No one sat in traffic. No one parked a car and went in anywhere, leaving their car unattended. We have all been under house arrest for almost a year now.

Celebration?

I dig the passion, but you've lost me.......might help to walk me through the 5 or 6 thoughts between your reading mine and then posting this response.

Trump didn't try to expose anything. He got in to his surprise on the Republican side, and he (Trump) ran with it.

I lived in NY and followed Trump in the 90's (back then, Trump loved the Clintons and the democratic party). Before that, our family had some property on the boardwalk in Atlantic City and I got to see Trump working the casino side of his business.

Trump is for only one person, himself.

That said, I do think Trump had a chance to make a difference and stay in office. The sad thing is IMO it was his ego that got him in, and it was his ego that got him out.

If Trump could have just learned to keep his trap shut and realize that his way isn't the only way, he could've been a great president IMO.

Yep....saw this yesterday. Largely buried by the MSM.... Figures. Doesn't fit the narrative they've crafted.
