Does anyone have any current recommendations for cold weather lubricants to use with the XCR (and other firearms)? It’s been 7-12 degrees F here recently and so this is on my mind, not that I shot outdoors this week.

i typically use various types of CLP and rem oil, but going into this winter wanted to take additional steps to care for my guns.

I thought we had an old member from AB, Canada and Alaska both that recommended different lubes. Anyone remember their user names?

I often don't lube my XCRs at all since in AZ it just attracts talcum powder sand...don't know how no lube would fare in subzero conditions.

Couldn't find the ones that were lube specific, but that ^ one is interesting.

There's a couple prototype nano oils being sent to me for testing, one for normal temps, and another formulation for arctic. Going to use g96 as a baseline. This stuff is supposed to get smoother as it wears in across heating cycles. Also non toxic, which will be nice. It isn't a clp though, no solvents.

Hopefully it gets here before the cold ends
