I was shooting at an indoor range today near Atlanta when a line of thunderstorms turned nasty and spawned a few tornadoes. Civil Defense sirens went off and a few minutes later the power went off and we had to exit the range (which was probably about the safest place) because the ventilation system failed. Anyway, the power was restored in a few minutes and I was talking to the store owner and he showed me a CZ VZ-58 Tactical Sporter in 7.62x39. It was the only AK "style" rifle I've held that wasn't an immediate turnoff. I know it's not an AK as it's a very different design, even the mags are different. But it seemed well made and solid. Mag went in and released reasonably and it had a bolt hold open. The stock was a skeleton Zytel stock. I didn't get a chance to shoot it because I ran out of time due to the storm. For ~$600 it seem like a good value. Does anyone have any experience with them?
