D&L sports VFG

If any one is looking for a high quality, light weight VFG for their XCR, I highly recommend the D&L sports VFG. It is as light as the plastic gunshow POS VFG's but it is extremely well made (derlin instead of nylon). It mounts with two allenhead crossbolts so it is compatible with the lightening cuts in the XCR's rails. There is internal storage that fits two AA batteries without rattling. Best of all it is inexpensive at $45.

I put one of (G)reed Knight's VFGs on my XCR. I bet it spent a full day - maybe two - on there before I took it back off. Now it's back in the original box, in my parts pile.

I just can't resonate with a VFG.

Re: D&L sports VFG

I've been on and off and back on again with VFG's and for me it was a matter of finding the one that fit my hand the best and locked up the tightest. I am using a Tango Down and am quite pleased with it. It locks up super tight and improves the feel of the VFG to me.

I also like it better for carrying while on patrol and it seems to help fatigue in clearing large buildings. Clearing a warehouse without one got me thinking of trying one again and I don't think I'll go back now.

I also like that the TD grip will hold 3 CR123 batteries as that is what my G3 light takes. This way I've always got spares with me.
