Hey guys,
I've had a couple complaints about "loose" ejectors, and ejectors falling out, and people having to use a lot of loctite. To prevent this from happening, install your ejectors this way:

Put your loctite on the screws. Put each screw in part way. While screws are still in loosely, reach in with your finger and pull the ejector up

While pulling up on the ejector, tighten down the screws all the way. This should prevent your ejector from hanging in there loose, or falling out.

Do you think this would fit better under XCR Light -> Cleaning & Maintenance ?

OK, I have a question then about the ejector.

I've noticed on mine, the bolts aren't tightened all the way down. The lock washers have a bit of space where the bolts could be tightened more. Maybe 1/16" or 1/32" from being tightened down.

Should I just go ahead and tighten the bolts all the way down?

I can get pics if you need to see what I'm talking about.

A pic I took while on a business trip there a few years back.

Real nice place. My whole group/team went there for the sauna built into the side of a hill. Huge sauna, maybe 100+ people could fit.

It was a real treat.

Since then travel has been severely restricted business-wise and I've only been back to Finland a few times since.

Never been back to Herrankukkaro though. If you ever get a chance, you should stay a night or two there.

If you like vodka, they have the best natural/fresh blueberry vodka and another berry type of vodak that I've ever had. I also like the Finlandia chocolate candies filled with vodka. I can't remember the name of the other berry, I think cloud berry.

I work for a large Finnish company and travel was the norm, but the last few years or so, not so much.

I was consulting for Nokia at the time and traveled to Finnland probably a dozen times teaching some systems engineering courses. Mostly Oulu in the North, occasionally Helsinki and Tampera. I never sampled the vodka but I had my first Raindeer Kung Pao in Rovaniemi (not sure of the spelling) just below the Artic Circle.

The other thing I remember is the 100% rate of missing my connection into Helsinki out of Stockholm. It got to be a joke when it happened every time.

Took my ejector out today and blue Loctited (is that a word?) the bolts.

Snugged them up so the lock washers, were flat and locked. Not over torqued, but snugged up good. The blue Loctite should hold them in place with no issues from now on.

I noticed the black color came off the bolts pretty easy. So they are now nice a shiny silver on the inside of the upper.

I used a flat-black gun touch up paint by Birchwood Casey, I think, to touch up the outside of the bolt where you can see it in the threaded holes on the outside of the upper. Looks nice.
