I bought an EOTech 510 a couple mo. ago. Supose to have 200 hr. of continuous use on "N" batteries. Last week, had to change batteries. Might have 10 hr. on it. Wish I would have bought the "AA" Style. Is anyone having short battery life with there EOTech's?

Was it store bought? You never know if it was used as a demonstrator, or how long it's been on prior to your buying it (some one might have forgot to turn it off after looking at it?). I suggest replacing the battery and then keeping an eye on it.
Bought it through Sportsman's Guide. Installed batteries that came with it. Put new batteries in last week & will keep an eye on it.
You can always leave it turned on and see just how long they take to die, but that's a drastic measure. I guess it may be a bit loke buying a printer for your computer, the ink cartridges they send you are never full!
I think it has auto turn off after 4 or 8 hr.
Eotech 512 AA Batteries... work great ;D

Eotech 512 + Robinson XCR-L + American Eagle 55 grain Boat tail ;D

Works very nice at 100 Yards

heat is a real killer of batteries. Lithium really helps but is not impervious to the heat either. I have yet to find any lithium N cell batteries, as I am having the same issue.
That's what I'm talking about! Way to go Tzoid.
I can't say heat is the problem, its been a mild summer here & I keep the gun indoors except for shooting. What do they use in the deseart? Lithium? Buy the way tzoid good shooting!

perhaps the heat from firing your gun? dunno, but my eotech likes to eat batteries and it sucks. maybe its time for an Aimpoint.
Maybe it's the "N" batteries. I have 2 Aimpoints with 'AA' baterries & don't have the batt. short life problem.
Never know about batteries.... it's all a mater (sp?) of shelf life. The nice thing is, in my experience is, you can "frame the window? in the eotech and still hit the target (close range). Super scopes that usually work OUTSTANDING. Simple enough for a cave man. Gunner P.S. Until you've heard the "Zip" you haven't heard shit!
