I know B.H.Obama has already stated his intention of using executive order,so this isn't exactly a prophesy, but I have a really, really bad gut feeling that one of the first will be a sweeping ban on future importation of all foreign manufactured ammunition.Firearms might be on the list too but ammo is easier to get away with.Considering the volume some of us like to shoot,it would be a devastating blow to the whole industry and gunowners everywhere.I keep hearing the excuse that he will be too busy with the economy etc, etc,to worry about gun control...All I can say is no offense to anyone here....but WAKE UP!!!! This is too easy to do as no prior Congressional approval needed.
With the price of ammo skyrocketing in recent years this type of ammo is all some people can afford to use in volume. Why go through the trouble and legal battles of banning guns when you can make it too difficult for people to use them.I fear we are about to go on a long treacherous journey into a dark chapter of American history, and only time will tell if we have the strength, courage and intestinal fortitude our forefathers had, that may be the only way we will save this Republic.

I agree, his choice of Chief of Staff, Biden as Vice President, and Hillary Clinton points directly to "Gun Control." :2cents: I would also look to taxes/ban on reloading goodies. :2cents:

BHO is out of his fucking mind.
Even some Millitary leaders are saying it would be technically impossible with the equipment and personnel they have now ,to knock down a determined Civilian Uprising.
Logistics would be insane ,Armor would sit idle waiting for fuel or supply's that gang bangers would be stealing.
Air power would be useless ,the Civilian Population would be to mixed in with your own Troops to be effective.
Obama was told ,This is not Iraq , the American Public is 100 times more armed than the Iraqis were.
Snipers would be as bad as flys ,and even old women would be popping a cap on your head.
Your own Troops would see what they were doing and wonder who is doing this to my Family back home right now.
In Iraq we were liberating people from a Dictator ,here we are enslaving People for a Dictator.
An unpopular SOB ,that no one wants to be the poor slob who died for him .
The same failed policy's that kept that Border open ,now have Ammo being the Contraband of choice over drugs and people.

That's not the game plan though. Everyone understands an outright maneuver would cause a bloodbath.

I see things much more...... reasonably.
First, a two-point simultaneous attack. Just a simple magazine ban, similar to the 94 ban. IF they can get that through - if not, just an import restriction. Combine that with a requirement of "national registration".

3 (or 7) years later, those registerees get a nice letter in the mail, letting them know that they need to surrender said registered weapon. Being found with an "unregistered" weapon on the "bad guns" list is now a felony.

You'll have three classes of gun owners the way I see it:
1. Stupid people - they'll turn 'em in. Beware these folks, 'cause they'll be more than happy to turn you in too. Incentive programs, I'm sure, will be offered...... As a historical marker, approximately 20% of the "assault rifle" owners in the PRK took this route.

2. "normal" people - they'll bury / hide their guns. "Sorry officer, I sold that gun" and all that. These people are only marginally better than the stupid people. They're hiding their weapons for "that day when we'll take back what is ours". Except that day never comes, and after a generation who's going to be able to retain their skills anyway?

3. "action-oriented" people - they'll do what should be done, and be viciously liabeled in the mass drive-by media for it. This would be on a small scale, and unfortunately not that effective (unless the goobermint brings down the "big hammer" - THEN it'd get messy, 'cause all the "normal" people would crank it up too).

Massive civil disobedience doesn't work - they know they can't throw all the gun owners in jail at once. Taking them on individually at their discretion though, that's plausible.

"Yes sir, I know I'm responding to your complaint about your neighbors barking dog - let's talk about these non-surrendered weapons that were registered".

I would have to agree with you on this one. Banning the importation of foreign manufactured ammunition is low hanging fruit. Enacting ridiculous taxes on domestic ammunition and components is arguably the next step.

Shooting being a perishable skill, they will make it harder and harder for ordinary people to maintain that skill and shoot in any kind of volume. Having a safe full of nice guns without ammunition is like having a garage full of sports cars without any gasoline.
