On the company site it states the XCR is more reliable in feeding. Why? What characteristics of design allows the XCR to feed better?
Better feeding by overall design would seem to make this a better platform for the 6.5 Grendel....which I have heard as potential feeding issues in the AR platform.

The barrel extension has longer, better feedramps and the magazine sits in a better position in relation to the barrel. I'm certain this really helps with the 6.8 and 6.5.

On the extraction side of things, there's the huge extractor and solid ejector.

The magazine sits higher which allows for a straighter path to the breach. A better extractor aids in removing the fired case and the ejector is a solid fixed bar which positively shunts brass out of the rifle.

I agree with what the others have said and from my experiences on the range, the XCR will feed from magazines that lock up an AR. Everytime I see a mag related failure in an AR I will set the mag aside and try it in an XCR later and as long as the mag will lift the rounds, they have all worked in the XCR.
