Gr8santi lives in NW Ark? Where do you live Gr8? I'm in Fort Smith, AR. I'm new to these forums, but I'm about to buy my first XCR. Getting a price quote from Roy.

SuperRage and I are both in NW Arkansas. I'm in Rogers. He's down closer to you. Congrats on your XCR purchase. Roy is great to work with. Let me know when you get it. If you want any DuraCoat done to it, I'd be glad to help!

Wow. I didn't expect to find people that close on these forums. I suppose i shouldn't be surprised.
I haven't been able to order my xcr yet, but Roy is working on it for me, so i'm hoping I'll still be able to get one. I originally checked locally, but couldn't find anyone who handled RA's.
Gr8, i take it from the threads i've read you customize quite a few guns? I'm definitely interested once i get my xcr. Any chance i could take a daytrip at some point and see some of your work in person? I've made the decision to go with the XCR, but i've never actually even held one.
Super, you can't be more than about 15 miles from me. I don't suppose you ever shoot out at the Old Fort Gun Club? I had let my membership lapse but am reupping now and trying to get back on the range more consistently.

When I go out, I usually head out to some property we own towards Paris. My wife and I have about 120 acres and then my mother has 50. Sometimes I will even go to the old Paris dump that they have transformed into pretty nice little range.
What do they charge to go out to the Old Fort Gun Club? Its only about 10 minutes from my house. Last year, the wife and I were out running around in our old 76' Bronco hitting dirt roads and was headed out there to check it out, but was turned back because it had just stormed and the road was washed out.

Membership is $40/year. There is also a $40 initiation fee when you join then there is a $40/year maintenance fee for upkeep, which i believe is waved if you want to donate some time to go out and help with range upkeep, so 40-80/year depending on whether you want to pay for upkeep. You also have to be an NRA member (associate membership counts).
It's a nice setup. There is a pistol range, a small caliber rifle range, and a 300yd rifle range, as well as a skeet thrower and a "cowboy action" set up mocked up to look like a saloon entrance. I understand they also have a range out at Alma, but i've never been to it. The members i've met are very nice, and they also host a variety of competition shoots throughout the year, though i've never attended any of them.
Their website is OFGC.org
I've gotten out of the habit of shooting regularly in the past few years, so i let my membership lapse, but i've just rejoined and am going to be shooting more frequently in the immediate future until such time that i can no longer afford ammo.
I'm going out to a friends house near Hackett tomorrow to put a few rounds through my AR15 and FAL (and if i'm lucky, he may bring out one of his silenced full auto's with the 22LR conversions for a little unadulterated fun >). He's one of the "AR15 or die crowd", so he's skeptical about my upcoming XCR purchase, so i'm going to have to take it out to OFGC for a good 300 round break-in before i let him touch it. I'm hopeful i can get at least a raised eyebrow out of him, but AR15 diehards can be...stubborn.

There are four of us (that I know of) in this area with XCR's. During the Spring and Summer, I offered free DuraCoat work for forum members here. I think I worked on 14 or 15 projects. I'm not a gunsmith or FFL holder, so I can't work on lowers or serialized parts. You're welcome to check out my XCR's that I've done, or possibly check out SuperRage's when I get it finished.

Thanks for the offer. I'd love to take you up on it when you have the time. As i said, i've never even laid hands on an XCR and would love to have the opportunity.
By the way, this past Sunday, I was getting dime sized (maybe nickel ) 3 shot groups at 100 yards using Federal 50 grain hollowpoints from the famous Wal-Mart value packs using the XCR setup pictured in this thread. I can't wait to try it out in 6.5. Aziator, fwiw, I was at the range at Hobbs.
That 18.6 inch barrel is all we can get up here in Kanada - I haven't had a chance to get out to shoot mine yet, but its good to hear that tight groups are possible!! Who did your fluting?
