Dunno how I missed this. I happened to see the link on Arfcom, so I figured I'd check it out.
Good to have a place for XCR owners to discuss stuff, and avoid all the recent hate on arfcom. ;D

My XCR-L 12.0" SBR // suppressed:

ETA: Added this one to show camo finish a bit better:

Mods: DuraCoat ACU Light Tan / Flat Dark Earth (I own a firearms refinishing shop, so was able to blast with aluminum oxide/surface prep to obtain the very matte finish)
1913 Rails notch-cut to accept KAC locking rail panels
AAC M4-2000 Sound Suppressor / SOPMOD Mount (will accept KAC M4QD suppressor as well)

Some notes about running suppressed and short barrels for those that don't know:

- Shooting suppressed has alot of back-pressure, and results in puffs of gas in the face...yes...even on the XCR. ;)
- Shooting suppressed makes the components that come in direct contact with escaping gasses very dirty, very quickly.
- Running a can on a short barrel requires a bit of tuning if you are thinking about chopping your barrel. One must first overcome the underpressure issues that come with chopping a barrel. I had to open up the gas port in the barrel, along with the gas block and valve. Of course, the factory short barrels may be out by now, and I'm sure RA has already optimized the port size. I started with a 16" hvy bbl.
- Shooting suppressed is addictive. 99% of every round I shoot goes through some sort of can. Suppressor mount gets alot of caked on carbon, but I just re-blast it with aluminum oxide and reparkerize it instead of trying to scrape that permanent stuff off >:D

Welcome to XCR Forum, there are a lot of excellent people here with little of the vitriolic noise that seems to happen with this mode of communication. Your rifle gets two thumbs up.

I have the color formulation for the FN SCAR-L if using DuraCoat. I did a customer's XCR about a month ago in a solid base SCAR finish. Requires a bit of mixing, and the right amount of hardener. Msg me if you want the specs.

Where are you located? I was thinking about having some finishing done next time I go to Iraq since I can't take it with me.

Welcome ExParatrooper,

You have a GREAT looking XCR there and it is a credit to your work as a firearms re-finisher. Now, what state are you in, and can you do some re-finishing for us members?

Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy our little community.

Shee-ite! That looks good. At least in the first pic. I'm not into "camoed" guns that much. It looked all sand/tan on the first pic, plus the suppressor.

Where are you at Exparatrooper? BTW, you are a leg once you hit the ground like the rest of us. LOL

I may just do mine all tan to match my AZ surroundings.
