Great story. I did not realize it was THAT bad in the UK. And that is the very reason we MUST fight to protect our rights here.

Edit: I emailed this to my friend and family and told them to pass it along. We all should. It's for our freedom's sake.

This is what happens when the government does not trust the citizenry, and when people are complacent. We are already headed down this path. They know they can't do it all at once, thus the death by a thousand cuts theology. We are being cooked slowly by our own apathy, and the more we stray from traditional values and get indoctrinated as a whole into the socialist mantra, the more easily the pacified public let their liberties be strangled.I've said it before, but it's worth repeating,a government that does not trust the citizenry with arms does not deserve to govern.

That's pretty scary. Throw in that the UK just authorized the use of Shiria law, it's falling closely in line with how major terror groups would like to overturn that government. THAT is what scares me about the path that we are headed down. :(

I'm blown away that there is a survey on if the second ammendment offers the right to bear arms unless they're trying to determine how many people don't know what it is...

The problem in the UK is that the government wants to ensure a peoples revolt can;t and won;t happen. the problem is they have give the freedom to the criminals.

I forwarded this poll to a bunch of friends and a liberal I know that owns guns. The liberal replies that he voted no, talked about the thousands of murders, stop the madness blah, blah, blah!

So I reply to him; Since you feel so strongly about this what does your conscious tell you to do - sell the guns or turn them in to be destroyed? Naturally no reply. Typical liberal hypocrite!

To play Devil's Advocate: Copyright is one of those things you have to defend or lose, even if the defense of such is wholly useless. The NRA (or any group or entity that enforces a copyright) has to enforce the issue or they risk losing any legitimate claims in the future. The courts could say that because they didn't enforce their claim this time that they essentially allowed the video to be posted and that could be construed as tacit approval of its use without written consent.

What it boils down to is that anyone who posts a video clip on a site like YouTube is forcing the copyright holder to waste time and money on attorney's fees; money that would, in this case, otherwise be spent lobbying for our Second Amendment rights.

Don't blame the NRA for doing what they have to do to protect their future claims of copyright license.
