If we started a Wiki we could really congregate all of the important info about the XCR into a quickly search-able Wiki.

The only problem I see, is if any crazy ARFCOM nuts come and vandalize the info, but if that starts to happen it's easy to moderate a wiki.

The great thing about a Wiki is all of the pages can be printed easily, so you can print out the Repair/Maintenance info and take it to the range with you. ;D

I think it would be great for new people looking at buying an XCR to have all this easy to find info.

What do you all think?

That's not what I mean.

A Wikipedia page is not meant to have detailed repair instructions, maintenance, common problems and other things, it's meant to have an overview of information.

You can set up your own Wiki dedicated to a particular topic.
It's a way of congregating all of the useful knowledge from these forums into a more organized medium.

For example, this is a Wiki on a 3D computer game engine called OGRE:
http://www.ogre3d.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

It works exactly like Wikipedia (search function and all) but only has information related to the OGRE engine.

In comparison, the Wikipedia article on OGRE is a very brief overview:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OGRE

See what I mean?

Well, it's something the administrator of this site would have to implement(I think that's Lex), unless we want to start a whole new website for it, (kinda wasteful).

Here's a list of a bunch of Wiki Software:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki_software

We simply have to set one of those up in it's own directory with a MySQL database.

From there users can sign up on the wiki and submit content or edit content for correctness.

For example someone can start a page called "Gas System" and you can explain all of the workings of the gas system.

It takes a small bit of learning to make some pages, about 10 minutes and you'll know all you need.
