With the holiday I wont get it until next monday...guess that is the bad part about living so far away. When I was in Arizona evrything came pretty quick :)

You can bet I will be out shooting next monday if I have light to shoot after UPS comes.
I should have mine tomorrow sometime. I'll get a chance to shoot it Sunday. Sunday will be a fun day. POF upper and 6.8 SPC XCR will be broken in.
My 6.8 is here and on the gun. I had the older gas valve so I had to swap out the piston. Now I need a conversion for my 5.56/223 barrel. Now the question is, when will the 6.5 Grendel conversions be out and when will RA take my order for one?

Im going to the range this Sunday. Ill let you all know how it goes.
Received the 16" 6.8 SPC Conversion late last evening. Changing out the old gas piston was a bitch, talk about tite. Everything else went well. It was cold and windy today, so I just shot 50 rounds of reloads through the barrel. I had to adjust my EoTech to the right about 1 1/2." Fairly good group considering the damn wind gusts. Even fed the reloads that WOULDN'T cycle my 6.8 AR! That was a surprise. It seems to love the 28.0gr of H322 pushing those 115gr Midway "blemish" bullets I bought. When I get the chance to shoot on a calm day I will report more. It does kick more than the AR in 6.8 but not much. After 300 rounds, and a lower gas adjustment, it will probably setle down some. Beats the 5.56 hands down. 8)
For those with your conversion kits, can you tell me how close the zero is between the .223 and the 6.8? I ask as I am looking at a 6.8 conversion for LE duty work. I would use dedicated optics for each caliber but was hoping that the zero of the irons was close enough that they would work for both calibers, particularly for under 50 yards, in case something happened to either primary optic.
I'm interested in the difference in zeros as well... how about some pics too ;D
Click, you can place your order for the 6.5 on our website now... that will put you at the top of the list. We should start shipping them in December, if all goes well.... Either way, you'll get first dibs.
Hey Terra, Shit..... might as well put me on the list for the G.... 6.5RA too. I love being at the top of any list. Plus I have a shit load of components to load that caliber with. Now I just need some dies... :sniper:
Are 6.8 kits now available?

I know some have been shipped but are there more available?
don't have any in the building right now... we've got 50+ on order... they should come in within the next month.

Jack - Go ahead and place your order online, if you really want one. I'll make sure you get yours when they start shipping.

Another note - I've had a couple people confused on where to find the kits on the website. They're in the accessories section... But I'm not too worried about you guys. You can sniff anything out. :p
Terra, With a note to you. Just ordered the 18.5" 6.5 RA Kit off the website. Thanks for looking out for me. email me if there are any unforseen problems. Thanks, Gunner :2rifle:
Will both barrel options be available from the start? What 6.5 conversion is going to ship first?

I shot mine today for a few minutes. I shot the first 3 shots with my Eotech mounted (which is sighted in for 50 yards .223) and hit about half an inch high. I wasn't able to shoot lots but what I did shoot was impressive. I would say that they are close enough to use the same optics, just not sure out to what distance. Next time I shoot I will take my chrono and shoot both 6.8 and .223.
That's great to hear. If irons shoot to within 1/2 for both calibers, my goal of using irons as back ups for both calibers sounds like it will work. Keep us informed.
I didn't get a chance to shoot my BUIS, But they are perfectly co-located with my Eotech. I mounted my new burris 2x7 and put the Eotech in front of it to "bore sight" it and was shooting about 1/2" low at 50. Once I get my trigger work done I will head back out the the range and put the 6.8 through the ringer. Unfortunately I just can't stay out there too long these days as I had surgery to remove some cancer and my leg just doesn't work as well, especially in the stupid boot I have to wear.
Another damn windy day..... Shot 65 rounds, with a strong cross wind, just for the hell of it. The 6.8 ate two reloads and some Rem factory with narry a burp. Looks like the H322 load with the 115gr bullet will be a winner. XCR worked flawlessly. More when I get a calm day. Gunner :2cents:
