I just picked up my second XCR and I'm not fond of the tube stock.

I think I need to get the parts that allow me to add a Vltor or Magpul collapsable stock
but still be able to fold.

What do I need ?? anyone have this setup ? Please post pics.

Thanks

Just curious, what about it do you not like? Although i am used to the M4 stock at work I find that I am able to get a more consistant sight picture from the slim stock (I don't have to cock my head at an angle to center on the rifle). I guess it is just me, my next XCR will probably have a Magpul/Vltor on it just for a different look.

Granted, the tubular stock took some time to accustomize myself to. Still, after doing so, I'd take one any day over the best telestock I've tried to date.

But I hate telestocks ;D

Really, the ONLY gripes I had about the tubular stock was that it was a touch too long and didn't have a sling attachment point like I wanted. Both got fixed.

Still, I'm going to experiment with the stubby stock when my package gets here - I'm betting tomorrow.

I hate all this white stuff on the ground. I hate shooting in it now, 'cause I'm cheap and it's hard to find the brass.......

Danged brass prices, gas prices, blah-blah :-\

I Flippen love the Tube stock, only other stocks I've tried though were an AR15 with an the solid A2 stock, and a solid FAL stock and various other rifles with non interchangable stocks...

I myself like the tube and all that comes with that stock. It has foam on the cheekrest part and a rubber butt pad on the end. When shooting it feels almost the same as my Para FAL. I feel both my FAL and XCR tube stock are about 1/2" too low.

Unlike the Para FAL, the skeleton stock of the XCR is cheaply built. The Para stock from DSA is top notch and is a thing of sculpted beauty. For these type of stocks (skeleton) DSA sells those ITC foam cheek pad with different inserts that will raise the cheek rest whatever amount you want. Also the foam cheek pads does wonders for fighting off the cheek slap you get when firing a .308 FAL.

Another option for a better cheekweld is get a Magpul CTR with 1/2" cheek riser.

Here is my Para FAL with ITC cheek pad.

Did I read a post recently saying RA was developing a new stock?
Is the Magpul stock available as an option for the XCR?

Stocks are not a 1 size fits all item. So some experimentation is almost allways expected for close to perfect fit.

The CRT with risers look like the ticket for me, not I just need to get one mow in case they are discontinued!

Is the "buffer" tube folding hardware that Robinson sells commercial sized or mil-spec sized?
Can I get a folding stock with a buffer tube and a CRT direct from Robinson? That would be the easiest thing. It seems like many XCR owners would want one between the CRT being a nice stock and having the option to raise the height.

Welcome to the forum Serious,

To answer your questions. RobArm's tube is Mil Spec. RobArm doesn't sell MagPul stocks so you need to go with a retailer. What have you got on your XCR now, is it a folder, or fixed stock? That will determin what adapter you will need to get to put a MagPul stock on.
