At the range with the XCR and someone walks in to pick up his fresh from the factory HK USP .40 tactical with night sights.

This guy takes his new, unfired pistol to the lane next to me, sees my XCR freaks out, says he has been looking for one in my configuration and would trade me his new, unfired HK USP .40 tactical plus cash for my XCR.

I took his number and told him I would think about it. Very tempting. Decent cash offer as well. What to do, what to do...and I've been giving thought to getting an HK MK23. Getting this USP tactical would be just as good...for now

Thoughts?

Keep in mind, I'd probably get a replacement with new Gas system and SCAR stock in a couple of months to replace it. This would just be temporary space in the safe being freed up

I own an HK USP Tactical in .45 and it's my favorite semi auto pistol I own. I paid roughly $1k for it about 4 years ago. They are kind of tough to come by so if you are able to replace your XCR easily with the new one then I'd go for it.

XCR's with the light barrel are 8 to 10 weeks away if you order now. They are making the heavy barreled version now.

It was the USP tactical V1 2/13 round mags 4.9" barrel in .40 with night sights. Its worth about 1100 in most places. Since my XCR was cheap as hell due to being mispriced, I am actually coming out ahead and can fund an HBAR XCR with gen 2 gas block and SCAR stock right after I get married next month. Win win situation for me.

But since I am actually getting this with the purpose of adding a suppressor it works even better for me.

Robinson is local. I am about 10 minutes from a NIB XCR at all times ;D

They take really good care of local dealers so getting a new one is a snap

I'm not even sure I will do the trade. I woke up at 6am and stared at my XCR and I'm not sure I want to part with it, but I would like that USP + $$$$$. I should know in a few hours.

I wouldnt do it at all if XCR's were in short supply. But I will be getting a new XCR in a couple of weeks/months, and it will be cheaper than upgrading my current XCR over time. New Gas block, Barrel, stock and part modifications are all things I was looking to do anyway.

Getting a whole new gun gets it all done in one stop shop.

Variable, Once you get married money can be tight. Realizing that, go for the trade. This new XCR you can get exactly what you want in a package with all the updates and whistles. I would have a competent gunsmith look the HK over and RUN THE NUMBERS so you know you are not buying trouble. Sometimes when things sound too good to be true....... they are. Had a friend buy a match grade Springfield M1A for a song............... it was hot and he lost the gun AND the money. GOOD Luck.

Well the trade happened. I have my HK USPf Tactical .40 + $400 in cash and a GG&G rail adaptor. No worries about it being hot. The HK was NIB and incredible. I gave my Fiance the $400 to put toward wedding expenses under the condition that I get another XCR without her complaining after. She agreed. So now I wait for my HBAR, SCAR stock, Gen 2 gas block to start shipping ;D

I gave: XCR, YHM BUIS, 3 Ergo Panels, case, manual. Keep in mind, I shot the hell out of this thing and abused it whenever possible. Bet your ass I pulled off the Eotech gear, TD panels, MIAD, and ladders. All that stuff goes back on my 2nd XCR

I got: NIB USP .40 Tactical with night sights and all the stuff it comes with + $400 cash + GG&G rail adaptor. Value is about $1500-$1600

The USP was literally NIB, purchased about 5 minutes before he saw my XCR and made the offer.

Why do you want the HBAR though?

Mine is coming with the normal folder, though I will definitely swap for a SCAR style stock if it looks to be a good product.
