My XCR arrived yesterday afternoon, as did all the stuff I ordered from other vendors. Now to get it all set-up and out to the range which I hope will be this weekend. Thanks to Mike Clubb of Able Company Sports for the XCR, Top Gun for the Eotech 512, and Bravo Company for the rest.

Congrats. :) Just curious, did you get the new style gas valve and firing pin?
Yes, it has the new gas valve. I'm not sure about the firing pin. I didn't know there was a new one. How can you tell which one you have?

Believe it or not, I don't have a digital camera. I need to borrow one so I can post pictures.
I plan to shoot one morning next week at PCS in Friendswood. I'm a member so it doesn't cost anything. During the week hardly anyone is there. I can bring a guest for free so if you'd like to go sometime let me know. I can go on a weekend, too. I can also go to ASC sometime. My email is in my profile if you want to get in touch more directly.

I may take you up on that ...might be nice to shoot in a new place. I am a member at ASC and can return the favor (free guest pass).
all the guns we have been shipping out have the new bolt/firing pin for sure. all the guns shipped in the past... oh.. month... have the new gas system.
Do you know the difference between the new and old bolts?
The main thing we changed was the firing pin. The old firing pins had a low tolerance, and in the field, making adjustments were more difficult. The new firing pins have a higher dimensions tolerance, and so measurements don't have to be exactly perfect for the gun to perform well. The new firing pin doesn't fit in the old bolt, so that brought on the new bolt.
