If you are running a 30 mm optic, I really recommend giving the Larue LT-123 rings a look. I got mine today and they are well made and seem to be a very good height for the XCR. They come in a pair which was great since I wanted one for my RDS and one for the magnifier. The magnifier in this mount just barely clears my rear sight when folded. They give a upper 1/3 co witness with irons, but with RDS w/wo magnifier I get a pretty tight cheek weld.
Of course being Larue, they are well made and noticeably lighter than my Burris rings.
I'll post pics as soon as I can, but for those wanting to get past the high sight plane of the XCR, these may be worth a look.
