Alright I am over the embarrassment and now I just want to know why.

I have an Eotech. This is the standard version with AA batteries. It has the thumb screw which tightens it to the rail.

Everytime I put more the 30 rounds through the XCR the Eotech falls off the rail.

I am tired of feeling like putz, can anyone tell me how to fix this? I have tightened this thing till my thumb is sore and it still falls right off.

I don't have that model but does it have slots on the knurled knobs where you could use a large screwdriver to tighten it?

When it falls off, I assume the tightening knob is loose again. Try Loctite. My Eotech is similar and it stays on nicely.

I had the same issue. The EOTECH thumb screw is the weakest link in the system. I have added a GG&G accu-cam to all three of my EOTECH sights. They run about $85.00 - $90.00.

The GG&G Accucam is definitely one way to solve the problem, but at a premium cost. The Loc-tite suggestion will do the job but you loose QD capability.

If you are not looking for QD capabilities, try using the hexhead screw, as you can put a little more torque by using the Allen wrench.

I just bought an Eotech for my XCR and it came wth both a set of thumbscrews and a set of set of hex-head screws. I put ithe Eothech on with the hex-head screws and fired 300 rounds through it without any sign of loosening.
