After recieving some new foam (Thanks 1REDGMC ;D) I was just not happy with the tool case as my breakdown rifle holder. I have decided to use that case as a pistol and mag holder instead.

I just picked up a Pelican laptop case (M1495) to use and am finished getting it set up. You can see in the pics I was able to keep the upper/lower together as well as leave the ACOG attached. The only thing I have to do is attach the barrel and it is ready to go.

Overall the case is abit taller and longer but is much thinner making it easier to carry. My mods to the stock make a tight fit but can push the lid closed with two fingers so its not that bad just alot of foam to compress.

Love all the features on the Pelican, just wanted to share

I would love to see the looks on the old benchrest shooters faces if you showed up with that at my range. you know the guys, they shoot one shot and talk for 30 minutes, reload at the range to adjust for temp and pressure altitude...theywould never understand.

I like it alot. I almost went with the 1490 case which is alittle bit smaller inside and alot smaller on the outside but then i would of had to take the upper/lower apart.
I carry 3 mags in it now but if I really wanted i could make it 6 and still have enough foam to protect everything.

What length barrel is that?

From the pics it looks like if you stuck with 3 mags, you'd have room to fit a supressor in there?

Its the 16" heavy barrel with a PWS break.

Yep, maybe a future rifle suppressor will make its way in there ;D

Not in this case but one with just a few inches more length.

With the stock folded the frame comes to 18.5 inches long. This case has 18.9 inches usable length inside and I had to cut a SMALL piece of foam out with a razor that wasnt "pick and pluck" where the stock goes. Also when i put the rifle in the case i push it front end first to compress the foam on that end. It fits absolutly perfect ;D

If you found a case with however much length needed (probably only 2 to 3 inches more) That would be sweet to keep it all together.

Theres always a violin case ;D

Very Nice Indeed. Much nicer and more inconspicuous than the tool boxes,musical instrument cases, tennis racket bags and gym bags that I have used in the past.

I found it online for about $135 IIRC, but I'm wondering if you got a sweet deal somewhere and could share with us.

Oops should have said where. I got it at Foamerica.com for $115 with foam plus tax. It is in phoenix though so i just went and picked it up.
