New Gas System Q.....

There are now 5 settings, so is the suppressor setting entirely new and the other 4 are like old, or have they all been revised?

I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet.

I will let Terra answer this one if I mess it up...

In the early days Robarms stated that they had a seperate gas valve for shooting supressors

SOUND SUPPRESSORS/GAS VALVES

The XCR is designed for use with Sound Suppressors. For owners wishing to shoot their XCRs with suppressors, a special gas valve with four settings is available. This gas valve has the same settings as the standard gas valve for settings 2, 3, and 4. However, setting 1 on the special gas valve for suppressors is different from that of the standard gas valve. The advantage of this special gas valve is that there is almost no recoil nor movement of the rifle when fired, yet there is excellent reliability.

Setting 1 of the old gas valve will work with suppressors but will result in more recoil and wear on the rifle than is necessary. The special gas valves will be available by the 1st of September 2006. Contact our sales department for pricing information.
I think that they have set it up so that 4, 3 and 2 are very similar. 1 is probably similar to the original #1 setting on the old gas port and S is the one from the silencer gas port.

I think Alex said that he tweaked the ports just a little when he redesigned the new block, but again I would go to Terra for the answer on that. :2cents:

Thanks for the reply. I'm gonna shoot it in the next couple of days to find out for myself. ;D
