New member here and am looking at buying an older XCR. This is with the older style stock. Not sure what’s changed between versions (gas block, rails, etc) but I’m curious about compatibility and whether there is any issue with the new items? I have a G36 conversion that I switch out calibers (5.56 to 6.8) and I’d like to do the same. Apologies if this has been gone over before.

Yeah...to answer your question: pretty much all of it can be upgraded. It's a question of how much do you want to spend and do you mind sending the lower back in to be made into a Type 2 receiver.

IME, it's cheaper to just buy a new gun than to upgrade everything.....especially if you have a railed upper and want to swap to Mlok or KM.

Like Sean said, with the secondary market in its current state the premium for a new or current spec rifle is worth it. I just watched a gen 1, type 0 gas go for $1325 on GB. Couple of mid gen rifles both 1450 or higher.

Only benefit to use is avoiding a 6 month wait.

Thanks for the input. I’ve gotten a sniff or two from other forums but the newer versions are definitely harder to find.
