hey if you haven't bought your scope yet let me recommend you this one. I have it and it is awesome. Very bright and doesn't get cloudy when you increase the zoom. Mil dot with 5-15 power. very affordable.

Bushnell Legend 5-15x50mm

Get it from opticsplanet.com

There are some REALLY good deals there on some weaver scopes

http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=WE800701&src=sim

There are a couple of other models with higher mags if you want, but this one would be good for close range stuff and still be fine out to 500-600 yards too.

The 4" of eye relief really make this scope usable on a weapon like the XCR

I've heard some really nice things about this scope too, I've actually been thinking about getting one as a spare myself. (and breaking my burris rule too!! )

Buy one.

for entry level scopes you should start with looking at burris line, then leupold then nightforce etc.

weaver makes a fine scope and these fill the niche quite nicely.
