I will give Rob Arms credit for responsiveness via email. They've responded within 2-3 days anytime I've had questions about my order or just checked in to see the status. It sounds like the hangups are with the barrels, being manufactured and then having to be sent out to chrome lining.

Hopefully mine will arrive in March. Still waiting for them to contact me for payment (even though I received an email saying they would contact me for payment soon).
I'm in the same exact boat as you are. Ordered an L in September and they are telling me the same exact thing about my barrels. We might be in the same batch.

Nice. What barrel length? Mine was 11" initially, but then I changed it to a 14.7" pin/weld. Likely in the same batch though. Last week I was told "your barrel is out for chrome and should be returned this week". Hopefully they call soon!

From Robarms
"I just pulled up your order in our build database. It is still showing that they are in the face stage on both your 12" & 14.7" barrel. They will still need to complete that stage and complete true, chamber, contour and port stage before they hit chrome. After talking with the shop, they are estimating 4 weeks before they go to the chrome vendor."

So whatever that means, I still have another month or two. I also inquired about a warranty on a bent ejector I got on a used xcr-m about 2 months ago. I got an email saying they are going to call for payment on Monday. I got excited until I opened up the pdf. It was for a stinking extractor kit that I never asked for. Luckily the used xcr-m came with an extra ejector.

I ordered an XCR-M in .308 in the following configuration:

Air gun Trigger Gun barrel Font Screenshot

I ordered on August 1st, 2022 and I got an email from Robinson that the -M was 2 weeks from being ready to ship on February 2, 2023. I asked if they were sure (because we all heard of such promises before) and they assured me that it really was almost ready, so I paid full price for it. I finally got the Fed Ex notice that it was being shipped March 8 and it should get to me next week. A 7 month wait is comparatively short considering all other wait times I've heard of, though there are many people out there who would be pretty peeved to have $2700 tied up while waiting another month for a rifle to ship. I am a patient man however, and I feel pretty lucky anyway; I honestly didn't expect to see it until the end of this year. I ordered the -M as I did to beat out a potential AWB 2023 from being ratified anytime soon. We are all now witness to the fact that Robinson Arms at least works faster than Federal legislation.

Thoughts on the -M when I get it into my hands. Though it's likely the first thing I'm going to do with it is tear it down and get measurements on that lower.

They (RA) just emailed me and asked if I wanted to switch to a stainless barrel instead of a chrome moly barrel because they have a completed stainless one in my same profile (16” heavy) and apparently it would ship out in a few weeks, as opposed to months.

should I switch to the stainless barrel and get the rifle super soon, or should I stick to the standard chrome lined one? Probably a silly question as I can always order another barrel.

Personally I shoot a lot so I prefer the chrome
If you want to get trigger time faster, I'd say do it, and keep your spot in line for the chrome barrel. Maybe you can provide a comparison bergen the SS and chrome barrels down the road regarding grouping/load preference.
Are the stainless barrels less durable in terms of round count? I was kinda thinking of asking them to still ship me that other barrel also when they finish it, but send the rifle with the stainless one now.

Post some pics when yours comes in! Going on 3 weeks here since I got the "your XCR is almost ready, be prepared for a payment phone call" email, still crickets and still haven't gotten a phone call.

I decided to do precisely that, push it through with the stainless heavy barrel. I also asked them to keep me on the list for the chrome moly barrel but turn it down to standard profile, throw in a set of spare parts for the rifle, and bill me for that when it’s done.
Wow guys, I may have my XCR sooner than I thought!

So who's yellow and got an XCR-M last week? This guy:

Wood Air gun Trigger Gun barrel Gun accessory

The set included the manual, the pair of BUIS, one mag, and the value priced bag that fits the rifle after folding the stock.
Air gun Sleeve Bag Trigger Luggage and bags

So after waiting a month after paying for the rifle, the -M was shipped to my FFL without a hitch. The rifle was nice and greasy from the factory and seemed good to go out of the box. At seven months wait, I honestly think it was the shortest wait time I've heard of for one of these barring the ready made ones on inventory. Serial number was XM06*** range; if they are in sequential order, there are indeed not that many -Ms out there!

I'll post more pics in a separate thread one of these days after I have it kitted out. I think I'll keep the FAST 3 stock this time and get around to making a 1913 adapter for it, so the stock can be used in other rifles. Off to work I go.

That’s dope, congrats!! I haven’t heard from them since I told them to go ahead with the stainless barrel, but I’ll report back if I do. Hoping mine gets here soon, I’d love to fondle it!
On a related note, how did you like the fit and finish? Pretty amazing like everyone has said?

Today, they told me that the receivers have been sprayed, and they just need to cerakote the barrel and finish assembly, and shipping would likely be next week. I won't hold my breath, but I hope its true, that would be very cool, and a very short turnaround.

On a related note, I am itching to buy some accessories and I have heard that the plastic BUIS they send with the gun are trash. Can anyone confirm this, and/or recommend a set that works really well with the XCR-M? Historically, I have gone with troy BUIS but am not afraid to try something new. I don't love the magpul pros for the price, and would rather have something metal than plastic.

It's my first new production rifle that I've gotten from RA, but everything fits about as well as the used -L that I purchased a year ago. Everything is machined finely with no machine marks on the outside. Cerekote appears perfect and I would hesitate to change the color to something else when the factory kote was so neat. Roll marks are very even and it makes me wonder how they do it. The chamfered edges on the lower are interesting and seem to match the overall design of the rifle itself. At its current configuration it's surprisingly light, though I seem to get saddled with heavy guns these days.

The basic BUIS seem decent enough to me and I don't plan to take them off (they are backups after all). I can only really tell once I take the rifle out shooting, which won't be until next month until I get my paperwork chores done first. I aways go with Magpul MBUS sights when I have the choice, though they are also overpriced, often-counterfeited plastic sights.

I've read the sights are made by Fab Defense....so not trash. You can get Tritium posts for them too apparently....

I can't stand Troy's politics, but they are the only game in town for micro height sights now.

That’s good to know, I’ll wait until it gets here to evaluate the sights then. I’ve got a couple sets of Troy BUIS on other stuff and generally love them. I don’t know anything about politics with Troy, but I can’t stand when anyone, including owners of gun companies, start vomiting their political opinions. I’m just here for the hardware, not your diatribe. Such a turn-off. That’s what initially pulled me off of buying stuff from Q. The owner is a total asshole.

They aren't Troys....that's for sure.

Troy kept an HRT FBI sniper team member (the one that shot Vicky Weaver at Ruby Ridge; Dale Monroe) on the payroll as well offering a position to retired FBI agent Jody Weis who was notoriously anti-gun.

RobArms has been telling me for 3 weeks that my receivers are painted and the gun is ready to ship. The barrel was returned to them 2 weeks ago from chrome lining. Everything has been paid for and it's just waiting to ship whenever they get around to it. So I wouldn't hold your breath. Not sure of their manpower at RobArms but they definitely underestimate the timelines. This is coming from someone who ordered last September and was told "3-4 months"...

Ahh. Bummer. I’m used to waiting on suppressors so a handful of weeks is no sweat here. I just wanted make sure I had my battle rifle before any stupid legislation potentially ruins that.
they also gave me a $255 discount today for being a first responder. Schweeeeet! End total is $2,335. I can live with that, sounds like a bargain for what I’m getting.
