Thanks for the review. I'm planning on getting one once they get back in stock.
Glass clarity is wanting a little, but the eye box is not bad. It's an excellent entry level prism considering the price. PA has a winner here and if they ever build it with Japanese glass I think it could challenge the ta33 if they kept it under 400. Eye box isn't as forgiving as the ta33, but look how tiny it is.
Somewhat subjective question but: How usable is the 3X close in? I've used 2X with both eyes open up to about 50 yards with no real issues. Thinking 3X may necessitate at least closing one eye.

Sean, this doesn’t pertain specifically to the scope in question but I have actually shot my 5x Vortex from 10 yards to 20 yards with both eyes open. It takes some getting used to but the accuracy is close enough for me.

It's a prism but you can both eyes open it with the dot on pretty effectively, like the ACOG. As with most prisms your going to have issues indoors, within 15yds, or when there's a light source behind you occluding the optic (creating a photonic barrier). I haven't tried it on a vtac barrier yet as mine is still buried in 3ft of snow
