I am thinking about buying a NIB M96 from a dealer. I was wondering if you had the top rail and quad rails still? Are there parts for this rifle if something breaks?

I believe a guy is selling one on Gun Broker , if not ACE still has some.
I'm not afraid of an M96 ,if i had it to do again i would.
Things i know about them:
Terra will ,and does support the rifle ,if she has any extra goodies and you talk nice she will send them to you.
they are picky about Beta mags , until you get them broke in.
They do not like the Lacquer coated Wolf .
Break them in like you would an XCR.
The sights are great ,just tighten them up a little now and then.
If the op rod pin breaks go back with a coil pin , i posted that.
They are a little big for a 223 ,but they do have that M60 look about them.
Barrel removal will change your MOA a tiny bit.
They will pinch the shit out of you if you don't watch it.

Buy a rubber slip on butt pad for an H&K ,it makes them look awesome.
I thought about a rail , but i am machining a bar to go between the two lugs on top , and i am putting an LAR carry handle on it.

Click Click, I own a 96 with two barrels, nice gun but STICK WITH the XCR as it's an vast improvement. The M96 has a fragile charging handle, and if it is the 1st model no bolt release. I would sink my $$$ in barrel kits and goodies for the XCR. :2cents:

Anyone with a Mill could build a better charging handle .
The plus the 96 has going for it is it is steel , a welder and a good gun smith can go a long way.
ORF and AA could do just about anything if you could get them to , the trouble is do people want to put any more money in the gun than they have already.
I have seen them do some amazing things with the old H&K rifles.
