I usely don't shoot at a paid rifle range because I live in the country. I have a shooting bench in my garage, when I open my garage door I've a 100 yd. range set up. There is a new range that opened up in my area & I thought I'd check it out. Last time I went to a range (10-15 years ago) payment was by the day ($6.00 or $7.00) I was shell skock when finished my shoot at the new range $16.00 @ 2hr. ($8.00 a hr.) I'm I behine times or is this place real proud of there range?

I went to the range last weekend, cost was $10/day, no time limit. Seems fairly typical for my area.
I wish we had a public range to go to around here but we don't. Lucky I live on the side of a mountain and my whole back yard is one BIG range!
Forgot to mention, that $10/day is for any number of shooters in a particular group.

I grew up in a rural area where my back yard was my range.... I miss that.
My range has an archery area, 25/50/100 yards setups, covered benchs, trap range, and a bar with 1$ 22oz yuenglings for $25 per YEAR!

;D ;D ;D
Magik,

that sounds very refreshing, and my kinda range (after the toys have been put away, of course!).

That's pretty cool to be able to shoot on your own property! It would be nice not to have to drive out to one each time to shoot, my range is $250 year but it's the ammo cost that is the killer.

BTW my ideal home is one that backs up to the beach with a golf course on one side and a shooting range on the other.
I don't know about the Golf Course thing, I could never manage to get that little ball in that little hole that is so far away. I would rather shoot the darn golf balls. They are fun! they have a tendancy to explode into a mass of rubber string! Way Cool.
When ever I shoot golf balls 9mm 40sw just leave black smudges and 223 puts a little hole in it, mine never explode, I wonder what Im doing wrong...
Don't think I will be going back to that range. My neighbors will have to put up with me, they live about half a mile from me.
I shoot a lot at Bass Pro Shops now as my old range shut down due to the owners selling out to developers.

Anyhow, Bass Pro Shops charges $8 per hour per person on the indoor pistol range. No reservations on the pistol range, first come, first serve.

The single rifle tube is $9 per hour per person and requires a reservation. 100 yard tube runs under the entire length of the store and part of the parking lot.
That would be a great place to go on a rainy day.
well our choices are 150 membership with $5 (free if you are a range officer ) a day charge no rapid fire . ...or $15 a hr for a full auto lane up to 50bmg at the local indoor range with ammo that gets expense real quick .

Try JHP. 8)
My yearly membership at the Aurora Gun Club is $150 with no other fees. http://www.auroragunclub.com/
My range is about $150 per year and we have rifle 25,50,75,100 Yard and 200M ranges, 25 and 50 pistol. Three pocket ranges for IPSC type practice as well as a Cowboy range and a State Championship shotgun setup for Clays, skeet and Trap.

I have to go to pay ranges for anything longer but there are a coupld here that go to 1000 yards. Beyone that it's Texas or the wilds of WV.
$50 a year for me. Initiation was $100. Place is pretty nice too.
$50 initiation fee $100/year membership. Sorry, no full auto.
