Sellier & Bellot .223

Hey there,

Does anyone have experience shooting the Sellier & Bellot .223? I picked a couple of cases up over the weekend, haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Looking for opinions and reviews as the price is right (relatively speaking anyway) and I may pick up another 5 cases.

Thanks

Sellers & Belliot is PRIMA ammo in ANY caliber. If you reload those are good cases too. :2cents:

They make really nice ammo. Pistol stuff is all sealed prinres and bullets so it stores well.

I have shot quite a bit of the S&B in both 223 and 308 and find it to be less accurate than my surplus or Ultramax. That said, it is super reliable and clean stuff.

With prices like that you can't go wrong! I have a 10k round stockpile of new ammo that if reloaded would save me tons in the long run. ;D

Sorry, made a boob. The brass price was to buy the brass. Loaded reasonably it would last up to eight times. So that drops the price per 1000 .223 reloads to around $175-185 per thousand.

On a Dillon it doesn't take long. Last saturday I got bored and made a few .40S&W. At my peak I did 100 rounds in 4m18s. .223 and .308 take longer as the powder has to fall further but I can usually do 400 rounds per hour with reasonable ease. My .308 on the Dillon shoots a 0.25" group at 100 yards so quality is ok.

What kind of Dillon? How much did your set up cost? I acquired an old RCB Partner single stage, but I havent had a chance to set it up yet. I found it dirt cheap, NIB, just in case I didnt like reloading...

Two Dillon 650 presses, one for small primer and one for large, and a Forester Co-Ax for .338 Lapua. Both have casefeeders.

Dillon's webbsite will give you the costs. They have easily paid for themseleves within the last 12 months and several times over since I got them.
