Gas block, op rod with piston, gas tube. You can use your current carrier, bolt and recoil assembly. Sometimes newer gas tubes and older uppers don't interface well. I've had some that were really tight.

I think I may have a type 2 gas tube available. Need to check which gas length.

I tried the type 2 on a 16" rifle and a 10" sbr, 5.56 and 5.45. It was the least over gassed of the current gas systems I've tried on the L but that may not hold true for other examples. The 0 seems to be the most restrictive. It wasn't enough of a difference from the other options to hold onto it and have another block/tube/piston to keep track of.

I think the 3 really is the sweet spot for the L. It won't save you much weight but you can get a piston head for your current op rod that'll work with the type 3 game Block.
