Source of barrels?

I’m sure this has been discussed before but I never found it. Does anyone know the current source for XCR barrels? Are they all from one other company or are there various sources?
Has any third party ever tried to offer a conversion, the way DWilson converts other AR barrels for use with LMT’s monolithic rail platform?

For a while AR15Performance offered to do custom XCR bbls for $550 but you had to supply the bbl extensions from RA. I don't think they are willing to do them anymore....or they may not even be in business.

As far as the supplier....not sure. I think RA has probably used numerous suppliers over the years....if I had to guess....but, that's just a guess.

Rumor is that ER Shaw is the supplier and as such, RA is at the mercy of their AR bbl demand as RA is not large enough to demand priority...which would explain quite a bit about schedule slips.

JFYI...they are still in business. Can't hurt to ask again. I bought some bbl extensions from RA not too long ago for both M and L.....as I recall, they weren't crazy expensive.

My gunsmith friend is always harping about how awesome 6mm ARC sounds. Maybe I should give these guys a try instead of ordering one from RA? Are the aftermarket barrels better than the ones RA sells in their conversion kits?

Edit AR15 Performance isn't doing 6mm ARC barrels after all. Dunno if anyone else can do them for the XCR.
Yeah, sounds like ARP has a definite dislike for 6mm ARC.

And no, RA's bbls are not high end.
