I heard from a reliable source in the US Specticale Forensics Brigade Force who are working with in close proxsimity to Robarm that a Coyote tan XCR with a 30rd .308 magazine, and a fish tail style scar stock, an automatic 65mm grenade launcher, 7.5" barrel and a Elcan Specter DR scope, a compass will be glued on aswell, this weapon system is being developed for them my USFBF source said. Aussie can you confirm this with your spy scope? Robarm might be making an under barrel 65mm automatic grenade launcher, just to show FN's 40mm EGLM up... He said it was called the Atilla...
At near $600 per 1000 rounds of 308 you can keep any semi auto gun that fires it. I agree it's a cool idea but better to buy more ammo for the XCR I now have... An no 300 rounds isn't enough.... niether is 3000!
It's like having 20 cars and one gallon of gas. You will not last long!
well, considering I can reload .308 for around $250 MAX per 1000 I will be getting both. There is not way I could afford to have a semi-auto .308 without reloading...
y'know guys, we already know the trigger will be improved, and i got a funny feeling that the bolt hold open will be a bit different as well. also the rear sling point may be changed too. i really think the -M is gonna be a winner, especially if we can get some good mags for it
On the mags front, I stopped in to talk with Larry Panka of CProducts.
Guess what he has there. YUP! Low-cost DPMS/SR25 mags. Just right for the XCR-M. Alex was excited about that, but not as excited about them as the 7.62X39 mags that are DONE ;D
The XCR-M mag he had on display was a desert tan, coated in some moly epoxy paint. Good 'nuff for a mag I believe! The follower was a white plastic, which I'm not used to in a mag designed for 7.62 NATO, but still "good 'nuff" I believe.
He said the price point was going to be in the 20FRN neighborhood....... those interested, let me know. I'm going to do a group purchase later this year.
According to Larry, the mags would start shipping (in basic black) in approximately 3 weeks. The nifty colors about a month later, 'cause they don't paint them - painting is a farmed-out thing.
Given my choice of aluminum or stainless steel, I'll take the stainless steel any day. FWIW!
Roy, yeah, I suppose you could call a FRN a 'dollar'. FRN = Federal Reserve Note, which is NOT money. Call 'em 20 greenbacks each...... since a dollar represents a value, and a federal reserve note has no value, I hate associating the two.
My usage of the term FRN is an attempt to make people think about what exactly is supporting the fiat currency we've got today, and what kind of outcome we'll see with more 'printing press currency'.
Mickey, I don't care if I see the XCR-M first or not. Here's why.
#1 I've got confidence that Alex is going to finish it up. He told me how close he is, and I believe him.
#2 My 'back-up plan' is the MagPul Masada - which also takes that exact same mag. That one I got to play with - although it's not due to ship for another half year.
#3 My 'back-up to the back-up' plan is the POF - which also takes the exact same mag.
So if I buy a bucket of these, and the XCR-M fails (which I highly doubt) then I'm still covered. Worst case scenario is I call POF and order some of theirs - they're delivering already, and have plenty in stock.
Gunner, no XCR-M in attendance. I'd love to share the pics, but that'd mean I got some :-\
Great news. DPMS mags are just too pricey. If you do a group buy, I would be in for 2-3 at least. They would feed my DPMS, but if the XCR-M is do out anytime (this year would be great) it will replace my DPMS as my precision rig. With the accuracy I get out of my XCR-L with wolf and the stock trigger, I can only imagine what the XCR-M will do with match ammo.
RA hurry up with it already. I'll take one in a 16 to 18 inch barrel, please.
