The internet is a great tool that brings a very diverse group of people together. I thought it would be nice to learn a little more about the member here, what you do, age, why you have the screen name you do, stuff like that. I will start simple though I am sure this will evolve.

Occupation: Military
Age: 31
Screen name: I fly for the Army so Aviator was easy. At the time I started using a screen name I had a 300ZX Twin Turbo (at its best it was over 700HP) that was an obsession so i came up with aziator.

My expansion:
Grew up in OK as an Army Kid, graduated from a small college with a criminal justice degree. Flew Helicopters for the Army for 7 years, now flying airplanes. Airplanes are way more boring.
Married with 4 kids, it seems the only thing my wife and I argue about is buying that next gun or gun accessory. (isn't life great)

Feel free to expand this.

Occupation: Home Improvement Sales

Married with children.

Age: 48

Screen Name: A good natured joke from a friend. I was worrying about punishing one of my kids and saying I felt like a mean dad, when the friend said sarcastically, "Oh yeah, your'e a "Bad" man alright." She suggested I use Badman as a screen name and it stuck. That was about 10 years ago. I use the same moniker on a bunch of gun forums.

I'm an NRA, SPSA and IDPA member. I enjoy competition shooting, but haven't had time lately with the work schedule. Even the reloading equipment has been silent for the last couple of months. :-\

Sn: The phrase coined by arlen specter for the bullet that killed kennedy and also from the saying "There is no magic bullet." Well, here I am ;D

I find the connotation somewhat whimsical and yet appropriate for gun boards. 8)

Screename: My first name.

I was born in Ukraine and my parents immigrated to America when I was about 7 years old. My Father served in both the Red Army and the US Navy. When he was in the Red Army he taught all of the soldiers how to surrender when the Americans came ;D They were all very disappointed when the Americans never came  So we ended up immigrating instead. It's a funny story but totally true.

When I was a little kid we had the Chernobyl accident and for a while the local media kept everything quite. My dad learned about it while listening to the BBC which reported the accident and despite my grandfathers arguments (who's a physicist) that it was impossible for our nuclear reactor to have a catastrophic meltdown my grandma put me on a train to Odessa. If you live in Europe it's nice to be multi-lingual because sometimes you'll pick up stuff on the news from another country that your government may not want you to know. I made it to Odessa before the rest of the country was in panic (and transportation away from Chernobyl became a nightmare). Of course it was Norway that was mostly affected by the accident as Chernobyl is located in the northern part of Ukraine and the wind patterns blew most of the radiation north.

I don't have any military experience and most likely never will, just not my thing I guess. I enjoy guns as a hobby and from a self-sufficiency perspective, plus it just seems appropriate. One of these days I would like to go hunting. I was raised in a gun-agnostic family so everything I know about guns I've learned either online or from the locals here in NH. This place is very gun friendly so it's hard not to bump into someone who knows a lot about the subject.

I'm a Volunteer Firefighter and EMT.

Oh and I make sure this forum stays online. ;D

Occupation - management and systems engineering consultant, Certified High Maturity Lead Appraiser for the Software Engineering Institute, and certifiable road warrior.

Military Experience - Lt.Col (ret) USAF, for the curious my avatar is my USAF Academy Class Crest

Married - one daughter and one grandson

Age - chronologically challenged on the wrong side of 60

Screen Name - I had a lot of Sigs at the time and chose SigsRule. Now that applies to pistols only, and not the 556.

NRA, CSSA, AOG, and American Legion life member. I'm still an Elk hunter (notice I didn't say Elk shooter, after 20 years or so only 1 Elk to show for it) and try to compete in IDPA whenever I can.

Well everyone hates me and I could care less. I speak what I feel, and if you get butt hurt because I think the FAL is the greatest rifle of all time, then I could care less.

I am pretty much good at everything I do. When we get together with friends I tend to win, and when I do I like to talk.... even when I lose I still like to talk. hahahhaahah In defeat though I am always gracious and will always shake the victors hand.

My third race weekend ever (in motorcycle road racing on a Yamaha R6) I won 1st place, beating my friend who raced a lot longer... he was really pissed off, ofcourse I did not help the situation any by talking more trash afterwards :D

I graduated Highschool with a 2.0 GPA, but while in the Army, I took some college classes, and after getting out of the Army I continued with college and about 4.5 years after leaving the Army I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from one of the top universities. That was 10 years ago, today I have pretty good job, but the company is really not that stable (like most companies). But I have been in unstable situations before and I always manage to make it through ok.

Polygamy is only unfavorable (impractical?) towards women, nobody said anything about guns.

I won't put you down for your opinion of the FAL - I have a DSA FAL that I happen to like very much as well as the XCR.
Thanks Sigsrule! And I won't put you down because you never worked for a living, just joking, you know how us enlisted guys say officers don't work hahaaha :D

Also I won't put you down for being in the Air Force either :D

Occupation: Customer Service/sales/assembly/repairs for Robinson Armament.
Age: 19
Screen name: It's my name. On most other forums, I am known as XCRmonger. Here, I put my name so that my customers would know me.

Before Robinson, I was a sales associate at Ross, and before that, a waitress. Guess which job was the best one thus far? I live for my job. Lately we are four people short, and it has been very hard to keep everything going. But I still love it. Guess it's the workaholic in me.

I was born in Hereford, AZ and have lived in little hick towns my whole life. Moving from pop. 200 to pop. thousands was a big change. No more shooting pop cans in the back yard with a Ruger .22. Now it's the big guns and the big ranges. That's alright though.. More fun in numbers. ;D

And.. that's about it. You all know me. My job, my cats, my beau. That's about all there is to it. :)

My middle name's Astraea. How's that for a funky one?

Hello everyone ! I am one of those"Mentally Challenged Children" of the 50'-60's era....we were expected to take on personal responsibility for our actions....in Grade school I was a Patrol Boy (Crosswalk Guard) guiding fellow class mates safely across one of the busiest streets in our city...........in High School I was on the School rifle Team all 3 years(Through thr ROTC program)...competing around the Northwest....our cars/pickups sat outside the school unlocked with rifles and shotguns in them so we could go hunting after school...GEEEE No one ever considered Stealing them much less using them on someone (Then again we did not know about miracle drugs like ritalin...just chewing gum, beer and cigarettes)
My father was a WW11 and Korean Vet.....I joined the 116th Armored Cav(Guard unit) in Nov 1966...no Viet Nam experience...except the training.............love the M1A(M14) befuddled by the M16/AR15...lusted after the M2 (Browning Machine gun)
Dad raised me as a “Big Red” Nebraska Cornhusker FOOTBALL fan….fortunately he died before the recent demise of the program….Loved to hate Barry Switzer….highlight of my life was Boise state beating Oklahoma and Barry eating “Humble Pie”….my daughter who always questions why I watch College Football and BB(One of six daughters….2 sons) was sitting NO! Jumping Up and Down,Screaming,Yelling ,crying….with me as we watched the GAME….OH. and my Dad was there between us (In Spirit of course!) Flipping off Barry Switzer…..IT IS ONE OF MY MOST intense PASSIONS (Hate the pro sports reminds me of pro wrestling) Also passions include muscle cars ,cycling, fishing, shooting, preparedness(self sufficiency trng) and MY FAMILY..................more Grand Children PLEASE I have so much fire arms instruction to do and so little time!!!!!
Recently had the opportunity to do the SAR Gunshow in Phoenix in December for the first time with Lars Hansen(Odin Arms) for Robinson Armament( My Thanks to Alex!).....met a very nice Gentleman by the name of Dolf Goldsmith....who's name rang a very feint bell in my head (Should have been a GONG ! ) Lars informed me that he is the one who runs the "Pattern Room " in England where all the small arms weapons and patterns are kept...Dolf is not arrogant or condenscending in any manner and was a joy to converse with on the XCR....Saturday morning before the show opened I was standing there making sure everything was ready in the display booth when Mr Goldsmith walked up and asked politely if he could look at the XCR again....duh? SURE !...a few moments later Dolf asked "Kermit do you have a moment?" As he sat there with the operating mechanism apart in his hands he nodded toward the parts....You know that AK systems and weapons are built all over the world and millions of dollars change hands but there are less than a handful of people that understand HOW and WHY the system WORKS....pause.....Alex Robinson is one of those people......no agenda on Dolf's mind ...just him and me quietly there at the booth...how blessed I have been in this industry to be around and meet some of the best minds and wonderfully humble people that are just "One of us" doing what they love to do....a very special and "Priceless" experience......
Again I am appreciative of all the helpful feedback and sharing the wealth experiences that all of you have contributed....it shortens the learning curve dramatically....good to be here....Thanks ! KermitZ
