Took my XCR out for the first time today. Was pretty fired up to try it out. Used standard Winchester FMJ. But for the first 35 shots, the rife did cycle fully but I had to manually press the trigger forward to be able to fire again. It eventually got better, but the trigger remains very stiff. Anyone else have this happen, and is this normal?

There is a post in here somewhere about this problem, can't rember where, but I think the gun was sent back to RA.

Not normal, but there is another case of it that has been reported on the board.... you will probably have to send your lower back to RA and they will get it straightened out. That is what happened with the other case, anyhow...

I tested my XCR in the first week of January 2008 and I had same problem. The trigger did not reset, I had to push it back with my finger to reset it.

I was told to put some oil and dry fire it couple hundred times. After I did so, it solved the problem.

So far I fired approx. 250 rds total, still breaking in the rifle.

Oil the little knob on the left side of the hammer. It catches the safety sear and if it is dry and not broke in, it may cause your problem.

The stock trigger is a POS. Thankfully it's the only bad part of a great rifle.

Send your lower to Bill Springfield and he'll put it right.

I recently purchased a used XCR. reading the posts here and my experience leaves me interested in finding this Mr Bill Springfield. I see him referenced in these forums, Sig Forums, HK Forums.

Who is he and how do you find him?

I'm liking my RRA match trigger and looking to improve this one here.

I'll keep checking google etc until i hear.
