More good for what? And JFYI, reflex sights ARE red dots....they just project the dot onto a lens. 😀 All the terms can be confusing.
There are tube and exposed reflex sights....as well as other red dot options like holographic or prism.
What are you trying to use the sight for? What are your parameters around things like range, price point, reliability, recoil sensitivity, speed of target acquisition, different reticles and water resistance?
There are times when an "open emitter type" like a Trijicon dual illumination RMR might make sense....like when you absolutely have to mount something super low to cowitness with irons on like a shotgun or an AK. I agree....I'd rather have an enclosed one, but in the 2 mentioned cases, it's really the only good way to keep the optic nice and low. The fact that it's not electronic makes it a decent choice.....
