Hey Guys and Gals,

Reading some of your posts no one has mentioned the Urban ERT line of slings and equipment. They are top rate gear and very confortable to wear for long periods. The person I deal with there is a real 'Good Bloke' and he sent me a sample of all their connectors for my approval. I give them a thumbs up everyday!

Roy

P.S. Their slings are adaptable from single to two point with an easy addition of another connector. Check them out at:

While we are on the subject of Urban ERT Slings, check out the "Seat Sling"

Just another one of their innovations from this company.
I'm not a fan of slings but I have one of their single pointers for my FS2000 and it's a very good product.
I have one for my FS2000 as well and it is very good.
The next sling I'm going to buy will probably be the Vickers. Had to try a few of them out at SHOT, Vicker, the Blackhawk SWIFT, and a different Giles.

FWIW, I think the Vickers has some real potential.

I notice these folks have something VERY similar to the Vickers sling too!
So who has a satisfactory way to mount a Vickers or similar two point sling to the folding tube stock on the XCR? I've tried the ring on the upper - the charging handle gets in the way. I've also tried it on the ring on to of the rear of the stock - that's too cumbersome with the sling getting in the way of shouldering the weapon. Any other approaches?
I am right handed, sling goes over my right shoulder and under left armpit. Using my Vickers I use a Universal Wire adapter (http://www.blueforcegear.com/product.cfm?type=cat&cat_id=5&prod_id=81 ) to mount the sling at the back eyelet on the folder. The only problem i have had is the wire adapter is just a little long, adding almost 6 inches to the sling. I spoke to the guys that make them and they are going to do a run of short adapters, basically just long enough to pass through themsleves. This system, works well for me.
One of the downfalls, other than the damn poor trigger, is the lack of good sling mounting points. Each and EVERY try to mount a sling has ended up with an abortion. The XCR is just uncomfortable as hell to try and sling. :'( :2cents:

not if you get a sling mount and don't have the factory folder >:D
I modified my folding stock with a good traditional 2-point sling attachment loop 'borrowed' from an M16A1.

It's now back at the machinists (again) to mount an uncle mike's QD stud to the FRONT of the buttplate, left side. That's what I'm going to attempt to run the Vickers sling to.

Everything was measured out, seems like it'll work well. Obviously I haven't got it back yet.

FWIW
