VIDEO: Snow Country, Shooting the XCR (after gas block upgrade)

I made a new video. My goal was to combine the Future Weapons show and Bear Grills Survivor Man and make a parody of both. Unfortunately my tripod broke half way through and I was not able to finish filming. I did get enough footage to be able to edit something together and show you guys. Enjoy!

If someone has a spare tripod that they are not using and would like to donate, I'm accepting donations :) Otherwise I've tapped out my 'miscellaneous fun stuff' budget for a few months so it won't be for a while until I get a new tripod. Nice ones get expensive and I don't want to get another cheap one and have it break again half way through filming.

Nice job Lex!

I'm exhausted just watching you walk around.
Lex, that made me laugh...Survivorman meets future weapons. Just glad you weren't frozen like a pop-cycle
Btw, there was nobody out there with me, I did all the filming myself.
That is what I figured...I think that was a good start to a great parody for Discovery Channel
I think you've got the Future weapons guy's vocal mannerisms down pretty good. ;D
[email protected]#n that XCR is cool 8). Am going to place an order for one about the end of this April. I got one dumb question Lex, when you were walking toward the camera, where the heck were your tracks from where you set it up? Did you come in behind it? Anyway, a pretty good production! You can keep that snow though!

On the right hand side is a stream. I walked up the stream, placed the camera, walked back, then walked on the path with the camera filming.

When I placed the camera there the first time I had walked all the way back to the car before I realized that I forgot to hit record :duh: So, to make that scene I walked back and forth at least five times (6 including on the way back after I was done shooting) 8)
Hey Lex, try leaning into the rifle when you shoot as opposed to leaning back. It'll make the recoil more manageable and improve accuracy. Nice video though.
Lex, lex. You've turned into a fame whore. Next thing we know, you'll be caught on the news drunken in public and showing your sniz. Tsk tsk. ::)

It's free marketing for Robinson Arms.

This kind of grassroots support is priceless ;)
A close friend of mine liked the video enough to have ordered a brand new tripod from me. It should be here next week hopefully. I'll be making more videos. Although the next two probably won't be XCR related... unless I do a video on taking apart the trigger group... hmmm... Well, we'll see. I also have in my sights a video on cleaning the XCR.
Not bad. Are those MSR's? I had a pair of them but graduated to something bigger for the Colorado deep woods and deep powder.

Only comment was the shadow of the camera on the tripod being in some of the shots.
Good job Lex! 8)
I miss the snow; but, not the cold.
Good film.
No wonder the tripod broke. The way you were holding it way out.

I paid $9 for it (actually it was included with the camera but if i was to buy it separately that's how much it's listed for online). It was pretty much all very cheap plastic. When I tightened one of the screws to hold the camera still the thing just split in half.
Bang, bang...

Gunsmithing is fun.
Great job Lex. The looks good too. ;D
Lex. Looks like your having a good time in all that snow! I did't get to shoot today because I had to mow the grass. :duh:
great video better you with all that snow then me though
