Re: What about a discussion on "Suppressed XCR's"

Halo? I'm not familiar. Who makes that?

I have an AAC. M4-1000 on the way with the Phantom Quick Attach Flash Suppressor.

Did you, or one of the other SigForum guys, say that they are bringing out a Phantom Vortex Quick Attach Flash Suppressor?

gemtech makes the halo.

I'm also looking at the m4-1000 for my xcr when I get into the nfa stuff...

aac is making their own flash hider called the blackout which works on some of their qd suppressors.

this is it:

I'm really interested to hear what you think of your xcr m4-1000 combo once you get it, so keep us informed! ;D

Re: What about a discussion on "Suppressed XCR's"

Oops, I just started another thread about Trusts for buying a suppressor. I was looking at the Halo. The local FFA that did my transfer for the FAL had a table full of suppressor equiped weapons at the last gun show and demonstrated the Halo. It quickly goes on and off a standard size NATO dimension flash hider. I had ordered a combination brake and flash hider from Performance, which should be in my mailbox when I get home, specifically with an eye to its being compatible with the Halo can. And before somebody asks, no I'm not expecting the brake part to work with a Can over it.

Re: What about a discussion on "Suppressed XCR's"

I checked with AAC this afternoon and got some good information.

The AAC Blackout Flash Hider (as shown in above photo by magikbullet, thanks) is now shipping out with all their M4-2000 suppressors as standard, and additional flash suppressors will be avaliable for purchase in about 6 weeks. They intend to make this hider the standard equipment on all their rifle suppressors to replace the Yankee Hill Phantom hider currently issued.

The Blackbox .45 can, it's still under deveploment. They were working on it when the "Government" changed their direction, once again, and maybe now looking at .40cal, instead of the .45cal. so it's been put on the back burner. He did say that they will continue to work on it and hope to release it to the public sometime in 2008.

Magik,

Where did you find this photo of the Blackout Flash hider?

I'm about to place an order for some cans and I might just throw in some spare Blackout Flash Hiders for people interested in multi-gun transfers of their can.

That picture came from a thread I started about fh's in the arfcom suppressor section-I tried to find it, but the archive search there sucks ass and I can't get to it... I think it was one of the dealers that posted that picture but I'm not sure.

You could also check around on silencertalk.

Thanks Magik,

When I asked the Rep at AAC the other day, he was treating it like a state secret or something, but he did tell me they are changing over to this type of FH on all their rifle type setups. I quite like them. Not sure how good they are for hiding a flash?

From what I've read, they hide flash just as well as the vortex... The same principles of that were used in the design of the blackout... I'll post some threads I find in their search.

Magik,

I went over and joined the Silencer Forum you suggested. Thank you!

I couldn't get over the Bitchin and raving that was going on. It reminded me of other forums I seldom visit ::)

I can see a can in there but where's the rifle?

That is a real good job on the paint work. Just how durable is it? Is it baked or just sprayed? I might start a new thread on Alt. finishes and you can be a star contributor.
