All I have access to over here on Maui is Winchester white box ammo. American Eagle is unavailable over here unless I order and wait a long time. Will this be a problem to break in with the Winchester 5.56?

Thats what I used, I had one or two FTE, with in the first 50rds but that was it...

Thanks guys. I'm heading down to get some tomorrow. Now all I need is my XCR to arrive. My FFL guy was out of the shop when FED EX came by Friday.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll probably take this gun to the range more than hunting. Bought the XCR to replace a Colt AR that a friend of mine finally got me to give to him as part of the payment to frame my house. If I did hunt with a 5.56 it would only be for Goat. There are State Game management areas as well as private land I can hunt over here on Maui, although this island is getting more developed and crowded. For Axis deer I usually use my 7mm mag, and for hogs a knife and some dogs. We eat a lot of wild stuff over here.lol. We sure don't have big areas like Texas though. Hey, my brother in law plays for the Houston Dynamo.

Hawaii is great. I was just there the week before christmas. That is great that you guys hunt over there too. How does goat taste like? Ever since I have been watching "No Reservation" with Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel, I feel like traveling the world and eating everything, like he does.

About the WWB, that is good ammo, better and hotter than American Eagle. Actually any 55gr or 62 gr ammo, except Wolf, should be sufficient enough to break in the rifle. My XCR is broken in, and still has problems with Wolf sometimes.
