Its pretty easy to DIY, just take the time and choose a paint you can get readily for touch ups if needed. Practice on a few pieces of cardboard.

heres a few airsoft rifles I did for some friends.

I agree, stay away from large sections of black.

ahhhh you'll be fine.
Just start with the lighter then finish off with the darkest color. I like to used Krylon camo paint cause I can buy it just about anywhere...Pep boys, Ace harware hunting supply...etc.

I use the recommended primer but make sure it goes on with minmal coverage. Too thick and it an cause cracking.
Also the blue tape works very well.
