RA just sent an email out with a 16” version in stock ready to ship.
It might be worth it to buy that, then wait on a short barrel vs hoping to find a shorty for sale.

Was it the old 'mini' length though? The 12" buried Type 3 block won't fit in a standard upper unless you machine the interior like I did.

Standard upper with type 3 block that just pokes out. Obviously 16” as mentioned, but I think if you’re on the hunt for one, it’s better to buy an in-stock one then order the barrel you want than wait 6+ months.

One of these 308 pistols are pretty high on my want list as well. They're cool AF! Congrats on finding one!
That's the micro. I chose a mini so that I'm not permanently married to the 12 inch barrel. I may just find a 14.7 barrel and have it chopped to 13.7 so I can gain rifle rights that shouldn't have been taken away in the first place.Here is a 9.5” 308 from RA Facebook page. I agree. I definitely want to pick up an M SBR at some point. I think a 12” is probably ideal, but I prefer the can to sit tight against the hand guard.

Unless you're willing to do what I did (or RA changes the standard upper or makes an -M "Midlength" like they're doing for the -L), you'll have to live with an exposed gas block to get the 12" bbl.
