Over on Sig Forums they have a current XCR slamfest under way. A fellows "XCR at the range" topic got hijacked. Like to get my 2 pennies worth in but the site does not dig my e-mail service and I don't feel inclined to do anything about it at the moment. Lots of plugs for our little forum though. And some staunch defenders rising to the occasion as well. Check it out.

Cant we all just get along...............................

I really wish I could live in a world where the 556 LOOKED like a 552. It does not, and I got over it.

The XCR is a great rifle, I am sure the people who shell out 1200-1500 bucks on their 556 think the same thing. I am done with it.

I know what you mean ,i get that all the time and it pisses me off big time.
Someone asks me about an XCR , and is thinking about buying one , then i am trying to talk to him and out of nowhere the shitheads appear. So i spend my time arguing with them , explaining , and i am not there ,or anywhere to defend RA , but i am not going to lie either.
If i thought RA sucked i would be the first in line to bitch , but it would be from first hand experience and not some BS i read on the web ,or what this guy told a guy i know . I get fed up and just ask them ,, Do you own an XCR ? ,,well no but i heard , or i heard and that is why i don't own one. and this is always what i get.
Then here comes the M96 or VEPR crap , and these ass hats don't know a RAV02 from a M96 , and the bitching is always the same.
Its over the kits and updates , and still its people who heard this ,or do own the guns. So i ask them ,Q: As far as the rifle out of the box ,have you had any problems with just it that RA hasn't repaired , or fixed ? A: well no ,uh uh, but i heard ,,, Q: so your problem is the up grades promised ? A: yea man that's it the SOBs said they was making them.. Q: Did RA take any money from you as a deposit you never got back ? A: NO, but they put me on a list !!! Q: Has RA taken anyone's Money on parts or repairs to existing rifles due to failures related to normal Breakage from Design or QA? A: NO.
Conclusion , People wanting the things said to be coming ,The truth i found out on my own , RA had some things in these kits being farmed out to others ,A common practice in the industry ,and these subs didn't get things to RA when they said they would , or screwed up the order and RA couldn't sell crap.
So the only one who lost any real money was RA , And these guys let other gun makers slide on shit like this who do the same thing over and over .They do because its a ( F.A.R.T m77 -A1 ) and they are a big company and they make the best and RA sucks.
Their arguments are Juvenile and stupid ,not based on any facts or knowledge ,and are based on some Forum BS from some guy like him who hasn't researched anything very far and thinks they are , Highly Educated Firearm Specialist , hes just smart and we are not. The bad thing here is :
Why is this happening to RA ,and no one else ?
Who are these people , they act like rabid dogs .
Why do people listen to their BS ?
I have dug through everything i can on the web ,Books ,old magazines ,and i cant find any reason for this.
Company's like Allied Armament who took money from people and didn't deliver anything ,or pay the money back and post on a site about how they are on the beach spending the Money get a better pass than RA.

I can only think its one thing ,Jealousy , sparked by some good buddy ,popular dude , who got pissed and ran around talking shit.
RA does make the top 5 company's , who make the best rifles in the world.
They are pissed because that just isn't possible ,and they should have gone under long ago.
RAs rifles speak for themselves , no high dollar PR firm ,isn't covering their ass .
Alex isn't a kiss ass , nor can he afford to make crappy guns , his guns are different than the rest ,and they work.
Sometimes better than the guns others make who are riding on a has been name , with followers who feel it big status to own one of the guns they make ,even if it sucks.

Someone brought the thread to my attention a couple of days ago. It isnt a 556 vs XCR discussion exactly, just a couple of douches trolling someone's range report thread. Nothing worth responding to.

An XCR owner posed a valid question concerning the allegation that XCR barrels areloose, something which I personally have never heard of

"I was just browsing the problems section on XCR forum...where are the reports of loose barrels? "
Well this was never answered, because obviously no one can back it up since it isnt true. The response was so childish that right away it was obvious someone people were just trying to stir up shit. Like I said, nothing worth responding to.

There is tons of this bashing that goes on at Canadiangunnutz.com too. I do my best to try and combat it over there. It all started with one guy who was mad because the ejection port of his rifle got dinged up a bit after 50 rounds through it. Others that had problems didn't followed the directions for the 300 round break in. It is mostly ignorance that is causing this bashing if you ask me.

That dumb son of a bitch ,i am no XCR ,Fan Boy !!! kick his ass
Their stupid SIG is the reason i even found out about RA !! Its off canter rail ,grip breaking off , uppers not staying together.
1000 rds falling apart ,,BS,,, he dosent know WTF he is even talking about , and i doubt any of them even own an XCR !!
I don't defend any MF rifle ,made by any company ,and you all hear me rant if i think i bought a POS from anyone.
My rifles from this company ,earned my respect , and i am one hard SOB on them if i want to be.
Im going to get on there ,F&&k them ,i have spent more money in 30 years on guns than he makes in a year.
And my younger days of running out and getting the newest golly gee on the market are done.
The SOB works ,or i damn sure tell them about it,ask FNH ,or Spring Field ,and my all time favorite MSAR.
Colt refunded my money at list price over their crap ,i need a drink.

Im sorry guys its just pissing me off. And i don't get mad with a gun manufacturer after i have had the gun over some time ,shot it ,and then something happens. Its that crap that happens right out of the box ,and is still happening at 100 rounds.
Dont worry Terra , at 8k on one ,5k on another then 2k on the 96 i don't think its a problem ,if it is i would send it in for you to fix and pay for it.
Its that first day ,first shots ,major stuff i am talking about .

I second the comment that my SIG 556 money went to RA. I probably would never have known about the XCR if not for the final product SIG came out with.

Like I said to Belgiam (Sp?) I will say the same to you Phalanx. I think you bring a lot of knowledge to the table when it comes to the rifle world. However, my MSAR ran without issue for 2k plus rounds and is still one of my favs (I know VB I KNOW!). The damn thing looks like an AUG and MINE works very well, good enough for me.

I would GLADLY have taken a SIG 556 that LOOKED like a 550/551 even if it did have some of the unnecessary "Improvements" the MSAR had for the "AUG".

There was one 'moran' on the Saiga forums that allegedly claimed to have owned an XCR, but sold it in disgust because it performed lousy on a 'carbine course'.  He said the barrel came loose and that was not acceptable for his 'go-to combat rifle' and how "in combat blah, blah, blah" and that it was a huge safety issue because the barrel would have flown "down range".  He try to came accross as some sort of high speed operator.  Yeah, they apparently don't get enough range time with uncle Sam's guns and bullets while getting paid that he had to pay for a course and buy his own toys and bullets.

I did call BS on him explaining how a regular grunt would perform maintenance on all weapons systems, commo equipment, vehicles, and so on, and if he couldn't manage to tighten one bolt he was full of crap.  Never heard another comment from him or issue about XCR barrels flying south for the winter since.

I've seen SAW barrels and an M2 barrel go "down range" twice each, and all on the first round fired.  They just plop and drop right in front of the receivers and quite anti-climatic.  Both SAWS had faulty barrel locks which should been noticed during typical maintenance or PCI and both M2HB's, well let's just say it was the operator's head space and timing that was off. Shamefully I'll admit to one being mine and it was maybe the second time I fired the M2. Remember screw in the barrel, then two clicks back.

Besides that whole thread is yet another dead horse ass kicking time again.  So why waste time or patience, again.  Apparently the ARKKOM guys are now on other forums having been bored at ARKKOM.

Dont even give them the attention. At the end of the day, that's what this is all about; getting attention. Why else would you jump into someone's range report thread and act like a douche.

You really want to irk these guys? Dont respond to their stupidity. Another reason to ignore them is you dont want to attract them. Trolls will always flock to where they will get the most attention. If they cant get it on their forum, they will come here just to be a pain in the ass.

I had a loose barrel once. I fired 4 magazines thru it as fast as my little finger would go. It never failed or hesitated or even has a failure. it just plain fired. I then tightened up the barrel and went home. no biggy.

heres a simple solution. if you barrel is loose fore some reason, then tighten the nut down. :duh:

Thank you SIG for pouring money into marketing the Time Has Come 556 which turned me onto the idea of owning an EBG again. I would have bought your 55X clone and vaunted quality but what I saw was a lot of plastic furniture, corny accessories, delivery problems, canted rails, sucky customer service. Thank you for getting me excited about black guns again. SIG thank you for marketing the 556 so far ahead of the delayed release date that I had a chance to evaluate what else was available, something that was better than an AR (yawn) but had what I was looking for in a rifle made by folks that you can get on the phone. Thank you SIG for my XCR. ;)

Finally someone that understands! Yes indeed Blackgundog, "The time had come" and apparently it was time to buy an XCR!
