Im an XCR newbie, been planning on buying one for years but just couldn't find one I liked on Gunbroker so I broke down and ordered one from RA.
My new XCR L in from RA just arrived, I ordered in March came in last week, customer service was good and they answered any questions that I had.
let me start by saying I own over 100 rifles including an FN SCAR, Beretta ARX, CZ Bren 1 and 2MS, i was planning to buy an ACR also but it just didn't feel good and other than the stock I just didn't like the ACR, it felt big and clunky to me.

Out of the box very impressed with the XCR, I like the soft case it ships in, mine is OD green, the gun is very slim and feels handy, the stock is sleek, folds similar to an FAL and is easily adjustable, the FAL style charging handle is in the right spot, I have the short handguard so the adjustable gas system on mine is easily accessible. i ordered mine with Keymod because I have alot of keymod stuff, I do wish RA gave another option for the pistol grip, so I'll be adding a Magpul instead of the A2.
I have a ton of light 556 so I got shipped with the 1/9 twist, the trigger is pretty sweet, comparable to giessle, I have a Meprolight RDS on order and will slap it on when it gets here.

Im an FAL/FNC guy and this gun has lots of the FAL features, it's obvious the the FAL inspired its creator . Overall I really like it! I plan to buy a couple different calibers to try out it's modularity, i can't wait to pop off a few at the range.

Welcome! I'll second the wait time. I think at this point, 8 months may be a best case scenario for direct from RobArms.

The wait was expected, wasn't a big deal to me for a custom rifle, it will fit in well with my collection, I've got a bunch of light steel case russian stuff that I don't like to run in my other guns, I've heard the Xcr eats steel with no problem

Can second this, runs steel cased with zero problems. I keep federal 55 brass cased in my guns as a rule, but for training and blasting when the accuracy doesn't count, the steel cased is where it's at.

Forgot to add, why keeping brass cased in the rifles is a rule......should you spend a lot of time outside, you will inevitably get moisture in the chamber from morning dew, rain, snow whatever....and the steel cased rusts rapidly.....the brass case will also corrode a bit but not near as bad. Always gotta take care of the chamber after exposure....

Yea, I don't carry steel, i carry brass (federal, remington, winchester) all of my ammo is stored in a climate controlled room . I hve about 15k and only use the steel for plinking at the range, I got the xcr just because i didn't have one, all 3 of my brens eat steel fine too I've even run some through my AValmet and Galil years ago but since some of my guns are in the stupidly expensive category I don't shoot those any more.
I'm excited to put it up against the other modular rifles I own for comparison. I love the fal features of the gun , I have no doubt it will eat any ammo that can throw at it.

If it doesn't....let us know. It should....and we've fixed more than a few rifles here with various troubleshooting methods, so we kinda know what to look for based on the symptoms exhibited and some simple tests. We can guide you through the process if necessary.....and you can always send it back to RA too....but that route can take quite a while longer.

I honestly think the regulars here might actually know this rifle better then most at R.A.
Definitely better at trouble shooting and much quicker to respond to questions.
All around good group

I'm comfortable saying Scalton is on the money here. If you have a problem let Sean take the first couple of swings at it....he's blessed with a life built for RnD pretty much no matter what he's up to.....

Maybe I'll get to shoot it in a few weeks, ruptured my Achilles shortly after I posted on here. Had surgery last Thursday and will have to wait to shoot it. Anyway, money for an extra barrel just went into medical deductibles and a damn knee scooter, lol, ill let yall know when I can go ping some steel.
PS unless you are into excruciating pain, I DO NOT!, recommend popping your Achilles!
